I think the Martina Hingi´s reing was not short, because she finished number one on wta rank in 1997, 1999 and 2000. In 1998 finished number two before Davenport. In 2001 Martina was number one again but not finished the year on the top because Davenport was the number one for second time in her career.

When you watch Martina's matches in her first 3 years starting 1997 you can really tell why people like us say that Martina owned players before. At just 16 she really knew how to play brilliant chess-tennis even with such an un-athletic body. I can only imagine how she would have owned more if she worked out like graff.

@olier1 ME TOO! i started playing when i saw her match against venus in the 1999 US OPEN semi's. 10 yrs later. I am 4.5 ranked usta player and have won nationals (UF), states (GA), and city (Atlanta) championships. I carbon copied her every move! (except my volleys, i suck at them)
