Scalar, speed driven, gimmicky, nonsense. Tempo is an avenue of expression, but MAB's approach to making music is similar to a person who aspires to be a writer and decides to do so by learning the dictionary by hard. Without ever knowing grammar (analogy for structure, harmonics, phrasing, dynamics, rhythm and sense of melody) it holds no water. I'm off, watching people like Guthrie Govan, Allan Holdsworth, Ron Thal and Shawn Lane (RIP). Where skill goes hand in hand with depth and taste...

I respectfully disagree, Michealhas a "masters degree" in musicalcomposition and harmonony.I went on tour with him twice his live perfomances were mind boggling and his original music deep and complex. He was a perfect gentleman and took time to educate all the young guitarists. the guy was 5stars allaround.. the factthat hishand technique is so superb freaks many people out... but the guy isa solid muscian.

No known players have ever successfully reached Level 4.
