Gary Indiana might be the murder capital amongst small cities, but I believe that New Orleans would have a greater murder rate. It isn't the poorest city, either. Camden New Jersey has that distinction. I believe that Camden new Jersey also has more murders and a much higher crime rate than Gary Indiana. It is a poor, desolate city, no doubt.
