  • I've my NC 2.0 from 2 week. I'm already in love with this car.

  • You are too slow on the clutch, but good lines and control over the car. very good.

  • That sure doesn't sound like a stock exaust.

  • You're a very brave and skilled driver. Cracking lap, love the car. I have a 99 and I'll trading my 350Z in for an NC MX5 in a few months. The MX5 is a lot easier to drive an more fun.

  • QD9F Quaife lsd?

  • The horse and rider as one.

As the blood runs hot in one the other feels the heat.

Smile on the face of the rider gives birth to new speed in the horse.

And a happy motoring to all.

  • Knowing the Nurburgring only by its reputation I had to look up its altitude, because your rate of acceleration heading towards Fuchsrohre just seemed seemed incredible for an MX-5. Seeing that it's downhill and much lower altitude there made it make sense. I could have a lot of fun being one of the slowest drivers on that track!

  • You're quite brave to push the stock suspension so hard. I hope to one day be able to handle my 2010 MX5 as well as you.

  • porsche step aside...

  • Very nice. My wife and I have a 2010 Miata that we have yet to take onto a track. We have just driven it through some of the mountain passes near where we live in Colorado. Looks like you had a blast, yiasas

  • what is your topspeed? is it the 1.8 or the 2.0? excellent cornering!!! and what is your 0-100?

  • Awesome. F@cking fast. Very fast.

  • Lol I was just playing GTA4 and when I saw the motorbike, I automatically thought "HIT EM!!"

  • did you remove the silencers ? ;-)

  • @CN300 No. The car's exhaust system was stock.

  • @papdoc are the tyres stock as well?

  • @Bahbohram when you drive on the Nurburgring they need to be streetlegal (DOT approved) so no racing slicks. But DOT-approved semi-slicks (like Toyo R888) are allowed, because they are streetlegal

  • @papdoc That's the stock sound? Damn nice!

  • good stuff, excellent driving. Shame so many others on the track you'd have been quicker.

  • Very impressive. Thanks for sharing.

  • amazing work, great driving :) rly pleasant think to watch

  • people say that the Mazda MX5 (europe) or roadster (japan) is gay. they are gay cuz this thing can "actually" go pretty damn quick and can do nice powerslides thanks to it's RWD. this is why i am proud of being half japanese

  • was that there 125mph on the big downhill part lol ??

  • very instructive. i see that you use brake few

  • what was the bhp of the Euro Sport Edition, much more than the car's common 68-170ish?

  • KPH lol, not that fast, but miata's are fun little cars, so props.

  • @LoveShock2

    You're embarrassed. It's ok man.

  • @LoveShock2

lol, I love how you drop "ciao" at the end of you comments to remind everyone you're Italian. get over yourself, then get a life.

  • Aren't these little mx-5's the coolest cars! My dream is to bring my mx-5 to Germany and do this track; but I live in Alaska and I don't think it's gonna happen any time soon...so much fun though, wherever you drive!

  • Superb. I recently got a 2001 Mk2.5 MX5. Great wee car. Wish I could drive it as well as the guy in the video!!

  • Could I just say- I am an american, I love mx-5's and hope to buy one soon. I currently drive an e36 BMW, and I hate muscle cars.

    -We're not all idiots :)

  • mx-5 is a true driver's car

  • you know, those are some ignorant people who say mx-5's are girly cars. when i moved over to the uk from the us, i noticed that people have a different outlook on mx-5's. they respect them more here.

  • They probably say that about the Miata in US because they don't know what a driver's car is there. To americans, the bigger, the better.

  • Not all of us Rafa... I despise the American muscle car and I am through and through USA. I am considering an MX5 and people are already pulling my "man card".

  • That's nice to know, I was making a generalization really. I know there are ppl there who know what a driver's car is. If I were you I'd go for that MX5, it's a great little car, loads of fun and goes like hell.

  • ..... did you not just read that people respect miatas more in the US?

  • @vkotis

Most Americans I know think the Miata is a real driver's car. Maybe you lived in the deep South.

  • Price of a SPEC MIATA +- 7000 USD

25-lap ticket on THE RING 390 Euros

passing an 30,000 usd s2000, a couple motorcycles, and bmws, Priceless

  • @RalphieG1984 a car for 7K USD? Would have to be in need of some additional work. And you could get an older liter bike for less than half that, probably in better working condition.

And this is a track day, not a race, so comparing one driver to another is pointless. Other guy could be taking it easy, slowing down after some fast bends, etc, etc, etc. Dont get hung up on beating others or other manufacturers. Go out and have fun for yourself.

  • I was actually asked if my 2008 mx-5's top speed was 80mph! Most people have no idea how great the miata is to drive. I've driven my Dad's BMW Z4, which is easily quicker in a straight line, but it can't touch the "feel" of the miata. Easily the best feeling car I've ever driven.

  • hi,

is it possible to share any details about the engine tuning you 've done in your niseko?

  • Hay, Papdoc, What were the tires and suspension?

  • Is that an S2000 he passes at 4:45?

  • Yes :)

  • indeed

  • Very impressive, well driven!

  • Very nice!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • I really hope ppl understand that just b/c someone doesn't hit all the apex's on this course, doesn't mean they can't. The # one thing when riding the nurburgring is definitely safety. Yes this goes for all tracks but it goes 1000 fold for this one in particular. On top of that the curb side on this course is huge, and your run off space (escape zone) is practically ZERO in alot of parts. If your not racing there's no sense increasing the risks. Plus he uses enough of the track in enough places

  • @buntanoyatsu Yeah it just looks like he knows the course but isn't totally familar with it yet- also the track could have been more slippery then usual.

  • Comment removed

  • It's in kilometers. Still fast as hell though.

  • Love the name captioning. Also: close call at 4:30!

  • It's not that bad, just using a little understeer to brake :) Happens all the time, on really tight roads. A little rough on the tires though.

I guess the other option is sliding the tail out, I tend to prefer that, but oncoming traffic seems to dislike it.

  • WTF! 0_0

That NC is really fast, and sounds nuts, is the engine tuned? It has to have an aftermarket exhaust system atleast, it sounds like it has individual throttle bodies.

I'd like to get an NC one day, I'll always keep my NA as long as I can though ^_^ though.

  • No, It's stock, I know that, I own one :-).

  • i had 2 mx-5 and i must say it are the best low cost sportscars ever !!! driving with an mx 5 is al lot of fun !

  • exw thn entypwsh oti perases ton gansan me to s2000!!!!wraios....poly ka8arh odhghsh!!!

  • I have a 2002 NC Sport with the full spec miata kit becasue its my daily driver and my spec miata race car. Its amazing what such a little car can do

  • 2002? NC production started in 2005 ;)

  • I meant NB My bad hahaha. The sport is so much nicer then my 1999 SM car. The sport has the Bilstein "racing" shocks. Brembo "racing" breaks. Its an amazing track day car.

  • i love it

  • very nice lap, and cool heel and toe :-)

  • Including the corner names was a nice touch.

  • wonderful vid and a quality ride.

lived vicariously thru you on this one.

great to see a nice car with a solid driver and a good vid setup on a fantastic course. would love to see the same put under the test on a closed circuit day.

    kudos to you.

  • how come there are motorbikes and volvo's on the same track? they are barely moving?

  • This is a "Touristenfahrten" day, which means that the track is open for any vehicle that is road legal.

  • @monki600 also if you see someone coming up fast then its courtesy to pull to one side slow down and let them pass. :)

  • the worlds best racetrack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Quality video, and some quality driving.

    Very nice to see.

I especially liked the inclusion of the corner names as you toured the circuit.

Some small hairy moments (wehrseifen!) and overall a very tice time achieved.

    Thankyou for your entertainment.

    Thumbsup.

  • Guys... this is not a playstation game... it're real life!! it was a good driving by someone who is not a pro! Congrats, I wouldn't do better - unless i am playing GT4 in my PS2 ;)

  • That's a fantastic lap on a fabulous car.

    Congratulations

  • Thats some pretty damn good driving. I have an NB Sport myself, but no way in h*ll can I drive like this :-)

  • Great driving, Great video, great ambasador for the Miata/MX5. Wonder how many times he blinked his eyes on the way round, that was pretty commited driving.

  • How many laps do you have in the Nordschleife morabo80 ? What's your PB? With what car? Would love to see a video too.

  • below....

  • definitYes,You are right, so as you don´t... Well, I´ve made a time of 9:12 on the same track with my standard BMW 120i, 150ps, on worn-out tires, almost full tank and one passanger on board. I´m not saying that it was the best possible time and drivig, so as this one ely isn´t. One the other hand it is a

  • piece of a realy good drivig, but there are still a few important and costly errors in the line, from the racing point of view and that is what I was trying to say. Believe me that he still coul'd push down a lot of time with just a little help. Nobody's perfect and there is ALWAYS something to improve even if you were F1 world champion... Understand?

  • I don't know you, but I hate you. He doesn't need your approval OR criticism, so just enjoy the damn vid and stfu....

  • Not a bad driving, but still too much unused track and missed apexes! One or two days of some driving school and it will be perfect. ;-)

  • Ha...yeah ok...This guy is quick, like to see you do this without killing yourself...you probably cant even ride a push bike

  • However, my drivig is realy better then my posting coments... I hope... (see above) :-)

  • I want the new Miata! The driving is incredible.

  • Well, this certainly disproves "the Miata's a chick's car" nonsense! What a car, what a driver! I smile every time I watch this -- thanks!

  • Αξιος και παλυ!grifind εδω απο το φορουμ :)

  • Και ξαναμπράβο παιδιά!

Εκπληκτική οδήγηση από γαμάτα αυτοκίνητα στην καλύτερη πίστα του κόσμου!
