Amazing Video, Never Delete this, historic moment. i love the old blue merseyrail trains :D I only ever seen one in my life when i was about 5 :( THANKS RUSSANDTILLY.
For the record, the liveries of the others were - 73001 & 73006 MerseyRail yellow with black low waist (seen in the the video parked on the same siding as 73004), 73002 large logo blue, and 73005 NSE blue with yellow cab front only. 73001 & 73006 were later renumbered 73901 & 73906 as they were the Sandite locos.
I think the 73 at the bufferstops at Birkenhead North depot might have been 73004. It was kept for spares only for the other four 73s MerseyRail acquired (73001/2/5/6), and was the only one of the original class 73/0 sub-class to be scrapped. It was painted in NSE blue with full yellow cabs (except for the cab windows). I remember seeing it there on an attempt to shed-bash BD, but getting no further than the security gate! D'oh!
I work for Merseyrail and you are all a bunch of saddos !!!!
