@harrisonfivehere I'm very fortunate to have a dear friend down the mountain that is a master gardener. She's very attuned to natural methods of gardening and helps me out a lot. I've tried to raise eggplant for a couple of years now without the use of chemicals, but those little bugs always killed my plants. She says using the plastic works well.

good idea with the plastic. I had spinach after the snow too! I'm going to plant fall spinach again.
