Teresa was like Elvis, once she recorded a song it became HER SONG. She was like Sinatra, her phrasing was perfect. She was an angel. Like the kids on YouTube who play her songs on the piano, anyone who covers her songs is open to criticism. When I listen Timi or especially Faye I sort of smile and laugh. Nice try kids, but ur not a Teresa. Maybe someday someone will but not now. This song uses a harmonica to create the sadness that Teresa was able to do with her voice. Not the same.

I agree that Teresa has a unique angelic voice that is difficult for anybody to match. I love Teresa but I also love Timi not because she has Teresa's voice but because she has her own unique sweetness. Timi's favorite singer is Teresa Teng so she sings songs by Teresa to cherish and keep the songs alive. In this song, she is only 13 years old so it isn't fair to judge her voice in this song. Try listening to other songs she sang at an older age before drawing a conclusion. :-)

u r 17 years old, I'm thrilled that u r into Teresa. I'm happy u found a singer of your own generation to love. Hopefully she'll develop into a fine singer. re Teresa's significance, probably impossible to understand. Back in the 70s n on she sold 100 million albums... many to people who didn't even have a record player, just for her picture.  She became the biggest selling artist in Japan. The same Japan that ruled Taiwan for 50 years and treated Chinese people like shit. They loved her.

I don't think it is about competition. I don't think anyone is trying to surpass the great Teresa Teng. Singing her song is a way to remember her and her golden hits. People don't sing Teresa's song to try to be better than her. I agree with you that Teresa is irreplacable. But Timi is not that bad either. I enjoy listening to and idolizing them both.
