The dopest fucking theme in the history of pro wrestling. The MX had so much goddamn swag with this coming to the ring. Always rooted for them over the R&R Express just because of this theme. I'd lobby to get this as a theme if I was a WWE wrestler now.
I know I'm going to get trashed for this, but the first time I ever saw Stan Lane on TV was when he was an announcer for the WWF in the mid-90s...I somewhat "grew up" on early 90s WWF and thus I was also biased towards them as well lol
@fivebearrugs Nothing wrong with seeing Stan Lane for the first time as a WWF commentator, so long as you watch ANY Midnight Express match with him in it!
With their manager, James E. Cornett. From the Darkside, at a total combined weight of 400 and 85 pounds, they are the United States tag team champions, Beautiful Bobby, Sweet Stan! The Midnight Expressssssssssssssssssss
@sukebechan36: "Please welcome the Kings of the Rings, the Gangster of Love and the Sultan of Swing, Beautiful Bobby and Sweet Stan, the Midnight Express!"
This was by far the best version of the Midnight Express...Stan Lane had the strength, martial arts ability and mat wrestling skills; Bobby Eaton had the high flying ability and that killer left hand. Meshed together, these guys made the best combination ever in my opinion. They even had several finishers such as the 'rocket launcher' and the immortal 'double doozle'. These were the true innovators of double teaming in tag matches...and had a manager that fit in and orchestrated it all.
@2Phaktor Nothing beat the Double Alabama Jam (or whatever you wanna call it) in my opinion. Nobody (not even Hogan) had a better leg drop then Beautiful Bobby!
Actually, wcw didn't exist in the late 80s. It was NWA until 1990 then wcw, and Midnight Express got their theme from the movie The Chase and it's by Giorgio Morauder
@britishbulldog100 music....yes....name....no. The name was actually used in 1979 for Norvell Austin, Randy Rose, and Dennis Condrey. They were called the Midnight Express because they wore all black and drove black vehicles. Norvell Austin left the territory and went to Memphis later to team with Sweet Brown Sugar (KoKo B Ware). Randy Rose and Dennis Condrey then were managed by Jim Cornette for a brief time before Rose left and Bobby Eaton joined.
@jre52301 Most of the people who bash WCW didn't even see it in its prime and are basing their opinon off the 2000 WCW that everybody seems to love to talk about you some reason.
@jre52301 Oh jeez! I LOVED that time in WCW! WAY better, IMO, than WWF. The only thing I would change is to have the Hart Foundation in WCW. Great times, though! :-)
this the best tag team in their time.

@flipstzr Actually, WCW formed in 1988 after Turner purchased Jim Crockett Promotions. WCW remained a member of the NWA until around mid-1993.

What a time late 80's WCW. I know a lot of people like to rag on WCW, but to me those memories can't be replaced and it was a great time to be a fan.

Probably my favorite NWA/WCW theme behind We are IronMen for the Roadwarriors.
BigHippiePat 2 years ago 4
@BigHippiePat I have that theme up too and the feud with LOD and Midnight Express is an example of how tag team wrestling should be.
