I'm sorry he quit, especially because I believe that maybe maybe he could prove his right after the race... even if it would take a two year long lawsuit.
Moralize about quitting whatever you want, the fact remains, that the race was unfair. The judges didn't do their job.
You have all missed the point entirely! Wyss may have committed infractions BUT Jure's team never informed the RAAM officials so the first time anyone saw this infraction is when it was posted here! If Jure's team had showed the video to the RAAM officials before he quit, the penalties could have been handed out to Wyss but since Jure quit with no explanation, all the video proof in the world is moot!
Now do you understand why he screwed himself by quitting?
Stop whining. First, Jure DID NOT finish the race and file a protest as the rules state, he just QUIT. When he QUIT it rendered any evidence he has as completely moot because he was a DNF. Second, he had a full hour's worth of penalties so Jure would still have had another :45 minutes worth of penalties even with this "evidence". Jure should NOT have quit in a hissy fit and he should have followed the procedures that he and his crew know very well at this point.
Ohio - He basically signalled his intent to turn right, then, suddenly, and in the face of oncoming traffic (whether it's there or not), merged left and back on to the lane and direction in which he was originally traveling. It's a fake-turn. It's illegal when cars do it, and it's illegal when cyclists do it. It's Chicken S**t. Robic wasn't much better by leaving and entering the course in different places, but he assumed a penalty time. Wyss should've been penalized for this infraction.
Cant wait to see an officiall explanation from the organizers about this specific situation. Why did they not punish the rider, although this evidence was available before the race ended. I can not believe what was happening on RAAM this year...fully in AMI style...
He faked a right hand turn, then went straight, and his follow vehicle did the same. It's a cheap way to beat a red light in medium-traffic conditions, but the rules state that you have to follow traffic rules and regs. It's a cheap move.
aja...pa wyssov priimek bi lahko popravli. eno tele, ki je napisalo ogabn članek v zvezi z raamom- Andrew Greenstein se je na veliko pritoževal da ne najde posnetkov na youtubu ob iskanju vnosa wyss. Naj si to pogleda kreten en.
Greenstein's blog entry reveals more about himself and RAAM organizers than about Jure.
I mean, he's part of RAAM's official media crew and conducting a crusade against Robic. Proclaiming a "Crybaby of the year" title that he will consign to Jure Robic, the (former) king of RAAM?
No wonder this theratening entry was now removed from RAAM's official page. Just guess not because an obvious lack of decency, but because an obvious show of organizers intent to get rid of Jure Robic RAAM supremacy
Totally uncalled for. If you do not wish to race here we are not forcing you. Jure's supporters also show the same disrespect that he's shown to his fans, supporters, competitors and the RAAM organization. His own blog contradicts his press statement. Jure knows the rules and failed to utilize them to properly protest his own penalties and those that should have been given to others. Jure and his crew know the rules and the procedures, yet did not follow them.
I'm Jure's fan and was offended by RAAM officials conduct, not Jure's witdrawal....
I see no contradiction between his blog and prss statement. By the statement they used RAAM 2009 Rule 260, pg 24: Public reporting, that is a completely valid and official ways to present evidence to race officials. So, the rules were clearly followed. It's just about RAAM organizers failing to follow their own rules.
that is all fine and dandy but the problem is that the rules are obviously not the same for all the racers. and for your information i am not desrespecting wyss. I know he is a great racer and had a race of his life on raam 09.
What is the contradiction, please? This has been asked many times and no answer. Also, why were the officials not giving penalties to Wyss, you have any explanation for that?

Haha nice to see the whiners checking in with the negative ratings.
Truth hurts doesn't it? Jure quit and didn't follow the rules to protest, plain and simple.

I showed this to my 5 years old, and she said "look, he drove through a red light"

And if you count penalties Wyss should get just by this footage, both for him and the crew, you get a full hour!

Maybe Jure didn't follow the procedures for filing complaints about his penalties.
But that still doesn't explain why Wyss didn't get any penalties for the traffic violation that tis video clearly shows.
And, in case anyone is wondering, it must be Wyss, because the number 309 on the pace car is Wyss's number.

I don't blame the Swiss rider. Congrats for finishing raam by the way.
But clearly he broke the rule. Jure did too, but he got punished and Dani didn't. Clearly bad call from raam officials.
Jure was faster and he knows that. We all know that. Even Dani.
After all that's all that matters.
Pozdrav Jure in srečno.

Clearly anythng but a sportful decision from race officials... shame...
krankzpank 2 years ago 2
Not really if Jure didn't bring it to their attention before he QUIT.
The only unsporting decision was Jure quitting.

As you maght hear at his press conference he did.

Please explain to me what he did wrong there? I can't see it.

By RAAM's rules:
"310 - traffic laws
3. Turning right at a red light, making an immediate U-turn and another right turn to avoid waiting at a red light is not allowed."
So he should get a penalty for each infraction, both for him and the crew.
P.S. follow the guy on the bycicle and the white SUV ;)
