  • One of the best parts of the whole movie. You realy get to see how amazing her mother was and what a good courtesan she must have bin.

  • I really wonder how Veronica's mother could make herself believe that courtesans were SO valuable and so powerful. They weren't and quite honestly I wonder if Veronica's mother showed her where the courtesans end up (street life prostitution) before pimping her. Or if Veronica had to find that out for herself. I mean, the way her mother makes it sound, she makes it sound as if courtesans were perfectly safe and respected, but were playthings.

  • @TheNuharoo actually the courtesans were respected. and they were actully the most educated women in the world. they were in fact powerful. not only in italy, but in greece and spain as well. they were able to influence political decisions. you should research them.

  • @TheNuharoo and it was true that veronica franco actually influenced the french king to give venice ships for the war against the turks. she later married and had several children. she really did defend herself against the inquisition and won. soooooo they are rather powerful. she wasn't the only one.

  • @aussiegrllawyer exactly , and besides though i agree that its sad that this is the life she had to take, it's no worse than being a wife in those times and in many respects better, at least you had some freedom. After all its not like life was that great for women back then whatever they were, her mother at least showed her how to become the best, so she'd have a fighting chance.

  • ayeayeaye! Damn 6:24 is a lolipop. Sweet Sugar,......*fan self*

  • Her mother is hot...

  • does anyone know the name of a movie where this married couple adopt kids or have a foster home on a farm and the kids call them mama bear and papa bear? i think its from the 90's

  • I didnt understand why she shoved her in the bedroom after her failures & then take her to the library. was that her way of punishment?...but i loved the quote "courtesans are the most educated women in the world" beautiful!

  • @msangelicarod She took her to the library because her mother knew the only way to motivate her was to show her advantages of the lifestyle she was choosing! and books were one of the rare few which interested the young girl, learning was her second love!

  • wanting is what keeps us alive...wow

  • Wow what an amazing life she got to live. Both wives and courtesans had it rough but I would rather be a courtesan, at least as a courtesan you got to be adored and loved and have fun and get an education as a wife all you were was a brood mare.

  • i really like the minister Rambosy (sorry for the spelling). He's very much the gentleman.

  • I love the music when they are teaching her how to be a courtesan. It makes it funny, even though she has to sleep around. But at least she gets educated. That's good, right?

  • I gasped when her mother suggested that she become a courtesan, my mom would force me to be scullery maid instead and post guards to watch me...wow!

  • that naked guy sure is sexy

  • "Courtesans are a force of nature in the civlized world"

In the bedroom mother dear, not in the boardroom.

  • @TheNuharoo in Venice they did. ;) trust me

  • hahaha the time when she was eatin the vegtable was funny cute :D

  • i love how they use the naked guy as if he is an object.for ones its the other wayround

  • @BelaSofie I wish i was that guy

  • Amazing...it moves!

  • im already of age but everytym my mom ask me why i don't have a child yet i'll turn to red. Its really awkward to touch this kind of topic with your mother, if that was me learning a handjob or anything sexual topic discuss by my mom then I'll turn black and drop dead .....

  • How would you like to learn how to do a handjob from your mother? Awkward!

  • Who taught you?....Your grandmother!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this = I'm loving it!

  • That is how you eat sparegus. Ladies.

  • @cordoovab And this is how you spell asparagus.

  • @caohanlu Thank you dear, English is my second language. My apologies.

  • @cordoovab Toooo true. that's how I was taught to do but with a little less sexual overtone to be sure.
