I've only raged one time in LoL, and that was when I was on a team with a Master Yi jungler, who I asked to go top when I needed to recall back to base to get health and items. I see him going towards top, but instead of going there, he starts killing the blue buff, and we lose the tower. I kept pinging him and the tower so there's no way he wouldn't have noticed. The tower had over half health left, and would have been at around 2/5 had Yi gone there. Oh, and then he almost never ganked. at all
@Lasiainen I just lost it after that and started spamming in allcaps at him, I couldn't help it, I was so annoyed with his whole being that I had to let it all out on him. Other than that though, I don't think I've raged straight at other people, although I often rage by myself e.g. when I'm playing M&B:Warband and get hit by throwing axes or arrows.
Excellent program, though my definition of rage is a bit different, (yours, to me at least, seems more towards smack talk). I would like to add that I believe the reason we are seeing more and more rage is a combination of age and the anonymity of the internet.
Online games are becoming easier for younger kids to get on, and as each generation comes along they are increasingly tied into the internet and find it easier to use the anonymity of it to say things that they normally wouldn't say.
@WolfeBane84 I would also like to add my biggest rage story. I got so mad at a game once that I punched a hole through the drywall of the room I was renting. I called around wanting to see how much it would cost to fix, the average estimate was $250. Needless to say I fixed it myself for, literally, $3.79. What a con contractors are. Had the paint color matched, bought the repair plate, paint brush, wall texture. Fixed it all and returned everything except the paint. That sobered me up.
@WolfeBane84 Rage in my eyes is aggressive behavior in any form, for no reason. Smack talk I'm fine with that. The accessibility and f2p nature of some games does promote an atmosphere of none consequence?
Whats stopping me from making a new LoL account and spending a couple of hours trolling/raging at people? Nothing, and that's a big problem.
Young kids tend to follow example and as these kids grow up they will influence the next generation, breeding even worse raging troll bastards!
Love the show boys. LOVE IT! I was wondering if you could talk about DLC and wether or not you believe it enhances the ability to make a great game or hinders due to developers knowing they dont need to stuff their game full of content when it can be released in increments.
That the game is free doesn't mean everyone goes rage and troll. I think it's a matter of age, generally :) The players that go bezerk the most are the ones that are the youngest, under the age of 16 at least. But free games makes that kids can actually play it (easily), without nagging their parents to buy it =)
@WickedMuis Age seems to be coming up a lot in the comments. I think my viewpoint might be messed up somewhat, all the younger people i know who play games are well behaved fine examples.
I would have thought age was just the go to point everyone uses when it comes to raging troll players. From my time in WoW everyone used to moan about it. "are you12?"
I don't know how much of a factor it plays. It does play a part that's for sure, just how big it is, I don't know.
