  • Question. Is this the only MacGuyver reference in the series? I have seen almost every episode and I cant find any.

  • @Blasted2Oblivion as far as I know this is the only reference to MacGuyver. I've watched the whole series a number of times but this is the only one that I've noticed.

  • @Blasted2Oblivion v=J847OF_jZ20 has a MacGuyver reference in an outtake. :)

  • The original version of childeren of the gods is awesome, this new edited with the sound replaced version is shit.

  • Hee, Sam's first nerd-out. "Look how small it is!"

  • This is from the movie length episode "Children of the Gods"

In the version I have she says "Jerry Rig" not "MacGyver" so im having a hard time beleiving that this isnt edited..

Oh and for the record it's O'Neill with TWO L's

  • @FreeRain100 Hahahaha....that's right. It is O'Neill with TWO L's (holding up 3 fingers)...lol

  • @FreeRain100 I have the original DVDs and she says "macgyvered" on them....so I know it wasn't edited. I remember hearing that joke years ago when I first started watching the series. It also isn't the only reference to MacGyver on the series. There is one instance when in Season 8 where there are minstrels playing the MacGyver theme.

  • @FreeRain100 The "Jerry Rig" line is actually the edited version, this was the original, but it has subsequently been cut from most versions

  • @FreeRain100

Really. I've only every heard the MacGyver line, but it's also been forever since I've watched it on TV.

  • @FreeRain100 Children of the Gods movie length version, was highly edited and this line and Sam's quip about her reproductive organs were taken out.

  • @FreeRain100

Actually dont be hard on those who spell o'neill wrong, in the first movie it was only 1 L not 2.

  • @FreeRain100 not edited, i remember watching it and laughing. different versions i reckon

  • I never realized there was McaGuyver references in SG1, and all this time I was hoping for one.

  • LOL!!! How did I ever miss that!?!?!

  • What episode is this :/

  • @Zernet10 - this was the first episode. When Carter meets Daniel Jackson

  • @michaelbasconcillo yah, but what season? Episode? I dont know....Thanks though :)

  • @Zernet10 - It's the very first episode of the series. Season 1, episode 1.

  • @michaelbasconcillo :O stupid me! I should of thought of that :P Thanks

  • @michaelbasconcillo

Depends on who you "ask". From what I've observed, the pilot isn't officially considered episode 1.

  • @Zernet10

Children of the Gods (the pilot).

  • if only jack oneill and macgyver could have come face to face with each other...they'd spend the entire episode arguing over whether or not to use guns lol!

  • i thought she made the macgyver comment at stargate command

  • In episode 1 it's blatantly obvious Carter has never seen the stargate before, but as the show goes on, she gets more and more credit for getting the stargate programme up and running. Towards the end of the show, she's sometimes credited with singlehandedly getting the stargate to work.

  • @VinnyMonster1 Quote from episode 1, George Hammond: "Not on this mission. Sorry. Carter's our expert on the Stargate."

  • @Mertazord Fair enough, but she was still given more and more credit with getting the Stargate working, and even getting the Stargate programme off the ground.

  • I don't know about SG-1, but in Atlantis, McKay was arguing with someone about something technical, as usual, and says "Who do I look like? MacGyver?"

    xD

  • @DragonJedi0

    Indeed! :p

  • @B5starfurry If you find that one, please let me know!!

  • Pretty sure there's another one where Carter says something like "Give me a minute and I'll see if I can MacGyver something." or something along those lines.

  • I love that scene. But allow me to go terribly annoyingly irritably nitpicky on your six:

'O'neal' is "O'Neill" and 'Macgyver' is MacGyver.

I apologize, but I cannot stand it, when people spell character names incorrectly. Especially if it is on characters from their fave TV shows or movies or whatever.

  • @CharlieBlue Especially since there's another O'Neil with one L that has no sense of humor what so ever. :D

  • I don't think he rolled his eyes, just gave a look like "Yeah, I coined that phrase."

  • I like the "Shutup" look she gives Jack when he asks her "I thought you wanted to be called Captain?"

  • I think he regrets playing as mcgyver..

  • @maddlantis I don't think he regrets it. If he did, he wouldn't let people mention it all the time.

  • yeah, I caught that back in 97 when I was about 8 years old.
