@Blasted2Oblivion as far as I know this is the only reference to MacGuyver. I've watched the whole series a number of times but this is the only one that I've noticed.
@FreeRain100 I have the original DVDs and she says "macgyvered" on them....so I know it wasn't edited. I remember hearing that joke years ago when I first started watching the series. It also isn't the only reference to MacGyver on the series. There is one instance when in Season 8 where there are minstrels playing the MacGyver theme.
if only jack oneill and macgyver could have come face to face with each other...they'd spend the entire episode arguing over whether or not to use guns lol!
In episode 1 it's blatantly obvious Carter has never seen the stargate before, but as the show goes on, she gets more and more credit for getting the stargate programme up and running. Towards the end of the show, she's sometimes credited with singlehandedly getting the stargate to work.
@Mertazord Fair enough, but she was still given more and more credit with getting the Stargate working, and even getting the Stargate programme off the ground.
I don't know about SG-1, but in Atlantis, McKay was arguing with someone about something technical, as usual, and says "Who do I look like? MacGyver?"
Pretty sure there's another one where Carter says something like "Give me a minute and I'll see if I can MacGyver something." or something along those lines.
I love that scene. But allow me to go terribly annoyingly irritably nitpicky on your six:
'O'neal' is "O'Neill" and 'Macgyver' is MacGyver.
I apologize, but I cannot stand it, when people spell character names incorrectly. Especially if it is on characters from their fave TV shows or movies or whatever.
Question. Is this the only MacGuyver reference in the series? I have seen almost every episode and I cant find any.

@FreeRain100 The "Jerry Rig" line is actually the edited version, this was the original, but it has subsequently been cut from most versions

Really. I've only every heard the MacGyver line, but it's also been forever since I've watched it on TV.

@FreeRain100 Children of the Gods movie length version, was highly edited and this line and Sam's quip about her reproductive organs were taken out.

Depends on who you "ask". From what I've observed, the pilot isn't officially considered episode 1.
