I've been through about a dozen of your songs so far. I don't know which is more engaging--your voice or your off-beat sense of humour. Please keep 'em coming!!
United, Catholic, Presbyterian, I follow the teaching of Jesus.. If you are seeking the answer to a question, read, seek it out, pray about it, you will find the answer. Some churches have their own man made traditions that I cannot find anywhere in scripture, dont get fooled. Praise God.
@SexyFulNes This man is sing 'Joyful,Joyful' in a style closer to that imagined by its composer Beethoven. You probably imagine the hyped up 'Sister Act' version is the 'real song'!!!! Sorry! Get an education!!!!!
@jimdivax real or not it is a very moving version. In fact I listen to the sister act version often...it moves my spirit. I am a musican. I love music. I'd be willing to venture that Beethoven...as a musican would have liked sister act's version. Who said music that worships God has to be boring. Your attitude suggests you're the kind of person who would have been angry with Jesus because he healed on the wrong day!? lighten up..or maybe ask God to enlighten you!
That was amazing. I found that this performance was beautiful and very touching. The high notes were not at all "slaughtered". Overall, this was an amazing performance.
Beethoven created this piece as a pentance for forgiveness. He was also thanking god for the gift of music he was given and created this wonderful piece of music while totaly deaf. A lot of gospel singers sing this, but in my view it should be done as Beethoven originally arranged it, and translated to english of course.
about 5 years ago, i switched from baptist to Catholic. i left the baptists when i saw that the Christian Church had to exist ever since the Apostolic era. no protestant or baptist or restorationist sect has been around that long. also, many protestants and baptists and restorationists claim that the Bible is the only source for Christian teaching. yet the Bible cannot be the only source for Christian teaching. one should focus on the fact that Christianity existed before the Bible existed.
You are correct that the worship of the One True God existed before the Bible was available. However, it is the final authority for my faith. I am not Catholic - because I have several problems with their practices and beliefs (historically and today).
But as long as we put our Faith and Trust in the completed work of Jesus Christ - birth, death, and ressurection - I know we will rejoice forever with Him in Heaven.
There's no Christianity without Christ [Jesus] . I cant identify with all these denominations, i travel alot, so i just attend churches that preach the Gospel of JEsus. I once went for mass in a catholic service where the priest said the final authority for d scriptures is d Pope- God's representative on earth!I didnt knw he's now displaced d holyspirit. Oh well. Different strokes. d hymns were lovely tho, but u can't compromise d gospel!
Iam Catholic as well but I truly believe in transcending denomination and I would like to ask you a question not because I dont know the answer but I wanted to test you if thats ok. Besides Holy Scripture what are the other sources of Christian teachung? Thanks!
1. Nature: "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" Rom 1:20
2. Holy Spirit.
However, any other source of Christian Teaching would need to be held to the criteria and tested of The Word of God. Paul warns of false teachers and that we must test the Spirits. I John 4:1
@coventrygardens Wrong. The church existed before 393 AD when the books of the Catholic Bible were declared canon at the Council of Hippo. In the beginning they weren't a church but a sect of Judaism until Gentiles were allowed in. I can tell you more in a private message.
I find the quality of you voice to be good,, however, your phrasing is somewhat off, you are holding the beginnings of phrases too long, and I also find that the key change on each verse to be excessive, find a key and stick to it.
I think that your voice is a barithonal one, very nice certainly, so you should try no to sing very high notes, as you do for example in The impossible dream or Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee, or take them in a light way to keep those high notes "covered" with that velvet sound you have in the lower notes! Have a nice Christmas and thank you for share your gift with us!
This will be the first song I learn to play on my electronic organ. Maybe just listening to you sing it will help me play it, Todd. Another very precious song I grew up with, thank you again.
Who was it that said "God gave us music so that we might without words."? Whoever it was never heard you sing, because when coming from you those words mean as much as the music. Somewhere in Heaven an angel is missing its voice. . . .
Todd, one of my all time favorites for singing in church. Gave me shivers to hear your rendition early this Sunday morning. A very nice way to start my Sunday, thank you.
Oh I did found this Video.
Christmas away , but you sing this song fantatstik. Its feeling and with your fantastik Voice. I hope we will listen more in year 2012.

I'm hoping this is a trick question!

Phrasing was intentional - to emphasis what I always felt was the important words and meaning.
The key changes were excessive.. but fun! The song tends to be slow and repetitive to me otherwise.
Thank you for your feedback!
