I got a 18 pt. behind my grandmas house. He came out of the swamp, he got to my bait pile and the wind changed and he winded me, he was hungry so he got behind a cluster of 4 trees braodside but i couldnt get a shot off. He would strech his neck really far, get a little corn and then move his head behind the trees, he did that twice, on the third time he had an inch of his neck exposed and i blasted him in the neck. He ran 80 yards. I went thru ass deep water to get him but it was worth it.

We also have something around a 12 pointer that everybody sees in our field. Just got back from elk hunting two weeks ago, too. Didn't see any elk, only a few mulies. We have a nice 10-12 pointer on our land too, I had a shot at him 2 years ago but he was running full speed and I had about 2 seconds before he was into a thick bunch of pines and shot just over him. he was about 125 yds and I could see his antlers easily they were so big!

Opening morning we are gonna do a drive through the swamp. We have a hunch that the big one is in there. The next few days I will be getting up early with my bow. Maybe get that little guy. I also see 2 doe every once in a while, but not lately. 3 days and 8 hours until sunrise, opening day.

We have black alders on the bottom piece where that 12 pointer likes to hang out cuz its so thick that he just runs between the drivers and we can't even see him, but we sure hear him lol. I will sight my gun in (.270) on Friday at my grandparents house where we stay, I wasn't able to get to the range to do it this year.

Oh yeah this deer? I got him last year with my quadruple barreled 50. incendiary/armor piercing round machine gun from about a mile away with iron sights in the dark while it was snowing in that big snowstorm that hit a while ago then I dragged him a good 20 miles back to deer camp which was abandoned because of the snow but I stayed in the deer that night for warmth.
