@PrivateSnowballTFC yes it also works for the give command to and impulse 76 doesent it. but they dont work when there isnt the same npc like the soldier did and it puts you out of the map. you need to type in the map in the console that were the soldiers sopposed to be. that one works for me :)

Ok, I was wondering, even if you spawn NPCs in the non steam version of Half-Life and the map doesn't have that npc, you still get booted, I was wondering because it says that, you have to change the spawn functions or something in the error code. Any ideas on how to do that?

In half life multiplayer, i found another way. Type in sv_cheats 1 in the councle then type in ent_create monster_human_grunt.

Okay so I found a working way of doing this :D

1 - Enter noclip mode.

2 - Above the ground, in console type: give monster_barney

3 - Without closing the console, type +back

4 - Close console for a couple of seconds, then reopen it

5 - Type -back

6 - Go out of noclip

This seems to work. Though I haven't really tested it thoroughly yet.

Apparently the problem is when closing console. Because you're standing still inside barney HL-engine will crash. But with the +back command you'll be moving :b

What i usually do is I look down into the ground while in noclip, raised a few inches above the ground. Make sure your not inside a wall or object or some shit. Then spawn the 'monster' and move away as quickly as possible. It can be handy to make a bound key to be able to move away even quicker (bound key to spawn). This usually works, but I can't guarantee it. I've done this, and experienced the 'stuck in wall' error anyway. So kind of random whether it works or not..

i was able to spawn barnie without the little yellow fireflys by turning on noclip floating up towards the ceiling and then spawning him i havent really tried it with anyone else yet

If there are fireflies around it means it didnt spawn correctly (stuck in a wall, floor, etc.)

To spawn other npcs you need to have entered all the codes given in the description and after you reload the game, for example save and then load, no you should to be able to do impulse 76 for a grunt, for a scientist you need to do give monster_scienrist and for a security guard give monster_barney I dont know about gman, maybe give monster_gman, but im not sure, he is not killable though anyway, after you spawned an npc, it will be stuck in you, so you need to do noclip before spawning.

SHUT THE FUCK UP! Why is Half-Life Source so much better than regular half-life? All it has is broken AI, non Gib-able bodies, super water effects that don't fit with the game, and too high of a cost! Its just the same game all over again! It should be cheaper if you have normal Half-Life. Its only good for Gmod and messing around.

The clouds of yellow particles are markers, used when HL1 was first being made, to show the developers if a monster was stuck in something: the world geometry or another monster, for example.. If the monster can't move, it's likely stuck inside the wall/floor/ceiling. If the game crashes, saying models/xxxxx.mdl is used in spawn functions, it means the monster isn't present in the level and cannot be spawned, likely because it isn't cached into memory.

and the barney likes a supersayan, i use noclip and the npc can move but he have the yellow bowl like a supersayan power and i dont like :( if can help, THANKS.

(The unic npc what doesn't have yellow bowls its Impulse 76 because the grunt spawns 3 meters long)
