I have the PS3 and I tried this, unfortunately for me it didn't work. I did the "letter task" and got him as a follower but the choice to train fails to show up in the dialogue. I even tried bringing another follower with me thinking that would produce the "Train Me Dialogue" but to no avail. Glad to see this works for some though.

The trainers can never get you to 100

90 is the max number even for master trainers it's to stop just getting 30000$ and power lvling from 15 to 100 in 10 min

If you finished the Companions quest chain, you can also do this with Aela the Huntress, although im not sure if she goes all the way to 100 archery, but you do the same exact thing, train, and trade her to get your gold back.

@Call0utGB I believe that your method more then likely would work, especialy if you up your difficulty, he then would have more health which would give you a bigger buffer, but if you get him to a lower enough health he will fight back and he hurts :P

what i did for 100 archery is get 50 from faendal no problem then from 50 to 100 i got lots of arrows then i got the perk from sneak to do 3x more bow damage if i am sneaking, then i go 5 or more meters away from shadowmere horse and sneak so it cannot detect me. and just fired away 3x damage ftw

@Spiceyweena321 If you haven't completed the quest where you give Faendal the note it wont work. Try and do that.

Keep in mind Faendal will only follow you after you do his quest leaving him with the girl instead of the other guy. Only then can you gain access to his inventory. Also he can only train you to the level of 50.
