For real? I stopped halfway through and i just had to post something... I HOPE you have learned more about the industry since then... Believe me, when you're starting out, people can see an over-inflated ego from a mile away... Make sure you dont jump in to too deep a pool. I think its great you're interested but really learn to be humble, when i started i had about the same knowledge as you, and now im programing about 28 led par long chases and 16 martin macs, all i can say is take you time!
get the operator 192. i have it and it works real nice. u have 30 banks with 8 scenes per bank so you can make all different shows. Brian Redd has great videos that showed me how to use it cause its real confusing. good luck bud
well in that case, still, its quite a bit more then necessary, ive doen performances before, all you really need is a little wash lighting, and fancy chases and effect lights distract from the preforemers sometiems, but if you feeel the need then find a good used elation board, they hold up well. if you end up over doing it and using a bunch of crazy programs and chases, all its gonna do is make a fool of yourself, trust me ive made the mistake.
@djsareawesome the mini strobes made a flash effect for songs like beat it and added flair and we used blacklights and mini strobes in the midle of the stage for another speatial song
dude you dont even need that much board, like i dont even bother screwing around with more then one or two programs a gig, id go computer software or something like the obey 10, i have the DMX 50 and a 32 ch NSI board, and like thats wayyy more then i can even use... but if you had to pick between the two, the Elation is gonna be the better bet, no offense to chauvet but the hardware is hella cheap, oh and for price, heres a thought, they dont have to pay if theyre not satisfied, like $100 or so
