I love Jesus and i'm not Christian, in Matthew 19:23-24 "Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God"
it was in response to a rich man who asked what he to do to enter heaven. And Jesus told him "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
Hey everyone! I found a great blog with an article about Rome. It's actually really interesting. It covers all the attractions plus some things I never heard about :S full with pictures. I even left a few comments for some suggestions. Here's the link if your interested:

So, I'm Athiest, or maybe Agnostic. How the hell should I know, But this right here is AMAZING architecture work, no matter my beliefs! They just don't do things like this any more.
@EdikShepherd What has driven you from faith in Christ? We are all witnesses to God's divine work here on Earth, the majestic sky, nature, the wildlife. Everything is here because of Him. You may say evolution led to animls and life, but what gave the first life, it must be God. The big bang even, it was a singularity that expanded outward in an enormous and terrific fashion, but science cannot explain what put the singularity there. God must be real. May the Lord bless us all.
What an answer. Why dont you tell us about your wonderful research you've done. Science can prove only what it sees, and absolutely NOTHING beyond that because its lack of imagination has left it blind. ALL LIFE COMES FROM SOMETHING AND YOU KNOW IT. I love science especially amateur astronomy but I still have room for my beliefs because I HAVEN'T CLOSED MY MIND.
@summer20105707 I do not object to your right to believe in your religion, do not object to me believing in mine. And for the record, after my last comment I shortly converted to Asatru. Which is the belief in gods that Christians nearly destroyed. And yet I do not hold a grudge against that religion or any other. Why do you?
I don't hold anything against you and against your religious beliefs. I salute you for having faith in something. What I don't like is when some people think that science alone has ALL the answers. I'm sorry if I misunderstood you. Please exp[lain Asatru to me. You gave me the wrong impression.
atheists and religious people, if only we can all smoke some weed together...you will see life in a whole new way! Bob Marley..he's my GOD:) I am soooo high right now LMFAO!
I've just got back from a short holiday in Rome and going to the Vatican was one of the things that made it beyond worth it!
Photos and videos of the Basilica don't even give it justice, the site of it is nothing compared to the naked eye. And thats before you climb all those steps to the top!
@minivz99 Nah I didn't get to see the Pope unfortunately. I'm not sure how often he makes a public appearance or does a speech (I wish I could've been there at a time he WAS making a speech, that would've been a bonus to the holiday).
are you still talking about this? I am sorry that I think you are talking to your self when your praying. I dont believe there is some guy in the sky that hears all of your murmuring. You dont have to cry. Here I got an idea, why dont you go pray something bad happens to me?
I'm here to appreciate architecture. But I didnt bring up the hate. Fuck Muslims?
Retort intelligently, please, your religion is declining day by day , and Islam is growing larger and larger. Most Muslims these days are ex Christians, and most Atheists thesedays were ex Christians.
Goodness gracious me, the Bible is like the iPOD a new one comes out every year, STILL Muslim Scholars rip it apart finding contradiction after contradiction. The Quran has stayed the same for 1500 years. Poor you
Jesus was son of Mary, but the father of mary too . Jesus was the son of Adam, so Mary was his mother , sister, daughter. Jesus impregnated Mary as the Holyspirit to makehimself.
Em. A logical Fallacy.
Islam beleives Jesus was a prophet, created by God, son of Adam and thats it.
Not the son of god at all!
Islams interpretation of Jesus is FAR more plausible than the quasiincest thing xtians r gettin off on.
We only know things about God when God reveals things to us. The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit exists within the One True God as a perfect unity of love. The separate persons of the Holy Trinity were then revealed to man by the incarnation of the preexisting logos (word) of God who became true man in the womb of the virgin Mary. Since Jesus reveals Himself as the Incarnate Son of God, you have two choices with that revelation. To believe it, or not to believe it.
Yes we do. But the concept of the trinity may work in the boundaries of sense only if you want it to . But to the neutral eye, the eye you want to convert to Christianity, they see nothing but a logical fallacy entering the realm of incest, nonsense and falsehood. You basically believe that God wasnt powerful enough to control his people so he had to split himself just so he could understand his creation. So God has to understand his creation? Then hes not a God...another fallacy. I dont believe
So instead of saying 'Fuck Muslims' just because of somethign that they show on TV, please come back with something intelligent. If your going to down trod the entire Islamic faith because of somethign Bin Laden did , then Ill just damn the entire Xtian faith because of what Hitler Did. Or what the Americans did in Hiroshima. Or what America did in Iraq.
Fair?
I think so.
Christanity is thus the most terroristic, mass murdering faith on earth. It isnt, becuase im fair. learn a lesson guys.
If you believe Jesus is God, then you are a Christian. But if you don't believe He's God, then you have to believe that He iss the most horrendous despicable liar in the history of the world. Only a liar or an insane person would say they are God. So, logically speaking, Jesus cannot be just a prophet, because a prophet only speaks the truth of God. Jesus is either God or a liar. Based upon what He Himself said, He cannot be a prophet.
But there's a catch. Jesus has said himself not to be the son of God in the Qur'an. The Bible is not the only document in which there are Jesus said It is on the authority of the bible, which has been changed, like a new IPOD nano since inception. What Jesus said has been changed historically and the bible is now a fairy tale. yes, only an Insane person would claim it. No one said Jesus was insane
. In the Bible, not ONCE does Jesus call himself God. Not one place where Jesus without interpretation (if Jesus was God, why not be clear cut and say I AM GOD) without ambigious language claims divinity. Even if he did, it wasnt he who was insane provided he wasnt God, but those who chnaged the bible.
and historically the quran is FAR more reputable than the documents of the bible which has become a story book now.
I just got annoyed. Is there a limit that a muslim cant appreciate fine architecture, i was disgusted to come on here and read 'fuck muslims' n 'silly muslims' here
i feel you on that. how bout someone come on and say all religions are crap and although have a good intentions help people justify their prejudices and hate.
It is nearly impossible to change anyone if the persons window to transmogrification is closed. Muslims arent terrorists and arent evil, some of us are loonies, but that is in every religion, like WACO or Hitler with Christians, I hope you guys dont hate Muslims, I certainly dont hate Christians. I live in what I would call a Christian country and they are some of the best people Ive met, tolerant , appreciative of all relgions and respectful.
That's how you can tell that all nations came from the 12 tribes of Israel. Every language has words which resemble another language in definition and pronounciation.
And like our linguistics and even to some case, ritualistic customs resemble each other in similarity , our root beliefs in divinity all mirror each to some degree of transparency , even if we have different mentations upon various dogmatic categories of religion.
Arabic and Hebrew are as close to each other as France and England, or Canada and the U.S. even the word Hello in Arabic, Salam and Shalom in Hebrew accentuate their proximities.

but in 1066 when saladin retained jerusalem, saladin didnt kill a single person, and, even gave richard the lionheart the king of the christians, free medical treatment as he was a leper. David the knight was amazed by Saladin. We are a peaceful faith
I have never attacked christianity. But on this video where i am appreciating beautiful architecture, what was the need for people to start saying silly muslims and start making comments about islam?
what was the cause of saying 'fuck islam'.
most people will say muhammad was a peadophile etc. but not say that joseph married mary when she was 9 n he was in his 80s.
just wondering why is that muslim can freely roam to Vatican st. peter basilica as tourist, and roman catholic and christians can't even step Madinnah or Mecca as tourist because they said its a holy place for muslims it is unfair right?!
Because Mecca and Madinah is for Muslims and Muslims only, it is the holiest place on earth and geographically, Mecca , the kabah is at the centrepoint of the earth too. It has significance and religous heritage to the muslims so much that they dont regard any non believer worthy of entering the place. But dont be fooled that it is racist or discriminatory. Mecca has muslim tourists of every race, colour and social dispensation. Xtianity and Islams reservations arent the same.
Islam (revealed 600 years after Christ) believes in an omnipotent and omniscient God. So do Jews and Christians. The difference is that Christians believe that God became man, walked on the earth, suffered and died for our sins to reconcile us to Himself. Jews and Muslims might not believe that Jesus was God, but they can't dispute the possibility. If God wanted to become a man, He could, couldn't He? If you say "no," then you deny his omnipotence.
Of course we can dispute the possibility. To our own eyes, our religion is a documental fact. We would deem others as untrue and ours true. That is the purpose of our Abrahamic faiths which share so many similarities. I can dispute the possibility because of my own empiric surety that Jesus was NOT the Son of God as he himself SAID in the Quran, a far more historically reputable historical document than the contradictory bible. If I say no, im a disbeliever in your eyes but true in my own.
I'm going in October and I had originally planned to go at 7 AM, but I'm afraid the sunbeams through the basilica won't be as magical as later in the day.
Is this a legitimate concern? To specify, I will be going in early October, not late October. If I go at 7 AM, will there be plenty of great sunbeams or no?
I know I sound really lame saying this because sunbeams shouldn't be THAT important! It's just that I was hoping for the church to look like it does in sfopete's video. Copy and paste this after the main YouTube web address:
watch?v=ZG0kLj9PDOg
See how pronounced those rays of light are flooding into the church? It won't be like that at 7 AM, will it?
Is it not even that big of a deal? Because to be honest, I'd much RATHER go early.
The church is on an east-west access. In the morning, the beams come from the front of the church as the sun rises, and in the afternoon they come from the back. But if there's sun out, and it's high enough in the sky, the beams always have that dramatic effect of "beaming."
Well, I just looked at the time the sun rises on the day I was planning to go, and it is about 20 minutes after 7. Probably not a good day to go in the morning I guess. :-(
Next time you're in Rome, go when the doors open at 7:00am. Being among the first to walk in makes you appreciate it more as a church than a museum. Dozens of priests will be celebrating Mass in all of the languages of the world at the side altars beginning at 7:15am.
Yeah people have told me that, unfortunately i'm a late sleeper. I think the earliest i've ever got in was 9 am. Truly one of the greatest houses of worship on earth.
There is a part of the Philadelphia Museum of Art that shows a lot of items from the Catholic Church that were from around the 1500's which is about the same time the Basilica was built. When I watch this video it reminds me of that exhibit a lot. I am very happy to be Catholic with a rich history as I hope all are!
I so want to go back and see the basilica again. I was 17 last time I was there and well, I am OLDER now. I was there when all the tourists were plus the trip was more for family than tourism. But I remember standing there in awe of it all. *sigh*

That is a sunburst. You cannot deny that. If you wrap the truth in deceit and paganism, the truth is obfuscated. The temple at Jerusalem is the ONE temporal place where YHWH decided he would present himself to the congregation of Israel.
You've obviously never been in St. Peter's. Do some research before you call someone a liar, sir. It is a dove representing the Holy Spirit. And Jesus said that he would tear down the temple and rebuild in in three days. And he was talking about his body. Our bodies are temples of God's Holy Spirit.

It's nice how a beautiful building is equated with truth, how lifeless statues paired with stirring music is evidence of relationship with YHWH. I really liked the sunburst at the altar. It's so...Babylonian. Flee from Babylon before it is too late.
In the name of the Messiah, Yahushua who is salvation...shalom
Buildings dedicated to God have a long history in Judeo-Christianity. Jews still pray at the remnants of the temple in Jerusalem. And the "sunburst" is actually a dove - a Biblical symbol of the Holy Spirit.
Thank you FatherBON for sharing this video...Hope one day I can have a pilgrimage to Rome...closest thing i have is a present and footages from my Muslim friend who visited last year...Shalom...
Actually, it was one of the sounds on iMovie. It goes pretty well, I think. The Basilica is really silent early in the morning, except for the priests saying Mass at all of the altars.

Kurozuguchi 2 years ago
It will be gorgeous at 7:00am in October!

Thanks very much for your reply.
Kurozuguchi 2 years ago
The church is on an east-west access. In the morning, the beams come from the front of the church as the sun rises, and in the afternoon they come from the back. But if there's sun out, and it's high enough in the sky, the beams always have that dramatic effect of "beaming."
BrotherofNalts 2 years ago
Well, I just looked at the time the sun rises on the day I was planning to go, and it is about 20 minutes after 7. Probably not a good day to go in the morning I guess. :-(

I've been there about a dozen times and i've never seen it that empty

Next time you're in Rome, go when the doors open at 7:00am. Being among the first to walk in makes you appreciate it more as a church than a museum. Dozens of priests will be celebrating Mass in all of the languages of the world at the side altars beginning at 7:15am.
BrotherofNalts 2 years ago
Yeah people have told me that, unfortunately i'm a late sleeper. I think the earliest i've ever got in was 9 am. Truly one of the greatest houses of worship on earth.

I'd love to go to St. Peter's someday.
Today's the Anniversary of when St. peter's started being rebuilt, also.

I hope that when I get ordained into the priesthood, I hope I am ordained in St. Peter's Basilica by the Holy Father!

i'm Catholic Christian, one last thing i would do before i die is to attend Mass and recieve communion in this basilica
ANTHONY212008 3 years ago 2
There is a part of the Philadelphia Museum of Art that shows a lot of items from the Catholic Church that were from around the 1500's which is about the same time the Basilica was built. When I watch this video it reminds me of that exhibit a lot. I am very happy to be Catholic with a rich history as I hope all are!

"Tu es Petrus, et super hanc petram aedificabo Ecclesiam meam, et portae inferi non praevalebunt adversus eam. Et tibi dabo claver regni caelorum".
Peter is there!!!
Greetings from Italy.

I so want to go back and see the basilica again. I was 17 last time I was there and well, I am OLDER now. I was there when all the tourists were plus the trip was more for family than tourism. But I remember standing there in awe of it all. *sigh*

Google "St. Peter's Basilica" and you can find a photo of Bernini's Altar of the Chair showing the Holy Spirit as a dove.
Oh, and you're now blocked. Google "lunatic" to find out why.

That is a sunburst. You cannot deny that. If you wrap the truth in deceit and paganism, the truth is obfuscated. The temple at Jerusalem is the ONE temporal place where YHWH decided he would present himself to the congregation of Israel.
Shalom4israel 4 years ago

Beautiful. Was the music being played/sung while you were videotaping? or did you add it later?
sukatra 4 years ago
Actually, it was one of the sounds on iMovie. It goes pretty well, I think. The Basilica is really silent early in the morning, except for the priests saying Mass at all of the altars.
BrotherofNalts 4 years ago
Well, it fit perfectly. But I bet it's cool to be there when there is no music at all. Peaceful.
sukatra 4 years ago
Thank you for sharing that. Someone like me is unlikely ever to see it in person. Ain't video great?
DahliaK 4 years ago
Glad I could bring you there at least "virtually." It really is something special to see in person!
