@ch3ckth1s0ut1 Your processor should be fine with FS9 (FS 2004) but the only problem is your RAM / Memory is on the lower end. Upgrade it to minimum 512MB. Also make sure that your Video Card/VGA Card compatible and you have the newer of Microsoft Direct X (I recommend Direct X version 8 for your minimum enjoyable game experience)

Stupid mission - i glided to Long Beach, and it said mission failed. You should be able to make decisions in this game. Any safe landing should allow you to pass the mission.

Aviate, Navigate, Communicate, Investigate! This means in an emergency, assume positive control of the a/c, then find a suitable place to land, then make your mayday call...after that, you go through all the systems to try and get the engine started again...never give up till your on the ground!! It may be your life at stake!!

u can complete this mission and land safely in Santa Monica. all u have to do is manually start the the engine over and over until it turns on.

you can turn on ur fuel booster and start again the engine. after that you can proceed to your destination..

on this mission when the engine goes out. look at the annunciator panel. notice the Low Fuel Pressure light. just turn on the fuel pump and then you have a nice working engine ;)

I have a better idea that works on me the first time I start this mission and any other flight. turn everything on from the battery, fuel pumps, and ignition switch since the start of the flight. And the engine won't even turn off..

It's because with the parking brake, the aircraft is geologically stationary. Since the carrier is geologically moving, the aircraft rolls in the opposite direction of where the carrier is moving. Simple theory of realtivity.

To restart pretty much just switch off all the generators and avionics, then switch all them back on. I haven't done the mission in a while, so I can't remember exactly.

When the engine dies, instead of landing on the carrier you can acctually re-start the engine with a bit of fiddling around and land at the original airport. That way you get a problem solving badge when landed to add to your pilot records.

I have a feeling, that in an unkown aircraft approaching an aircraft carrier, things would be different... Like, if you do not signal in any way to the carrier, I have a feeling they would fire upon you, lol! Plus, what about the aircraft patroling the airspace, like the F\A-18 and other things?

Just fly heading your destinaton but dont fly too high. right before your engine fails, you can see that some formation of ships changing their course.when you see some ships (really tiny and are not so clearly seen), try to identify the aircraft Carrier, try to approaching aircraft carrier and keep your altitude while glide slowly to aircraft carrier. Otherwise, restart the engine and continue mission to original destination

u dont have to land on the aircraft carrier...there are two ways to beat the mission...just before the engine fails the low fuel pressure light comes on...ur main fuel pump fails...turn on the aux, restart the engine and continue to Catalina

The Previous video I made with unregistered Fraps that only allow me to record it for 6oseconds. anyway, to restart the engine press shift + 7 to bring the fuel panel, turn fuel boost button on, then re-start the engine (Ctrl+E).then continue to your destination

on the left in VC you can see alot of switches. Just flick the one that says "aux. fuel pump" or something. If your engine was out by then, just restart it.
