  • what kind of drum heads are you using?

  • ATTENTION!!! I have a pearl forum fz that im selling on, its 5 peice with evan skins and solar cymbals.

EMAIL me if your intrested @ humancomputor@hotmail.co.uk, its collection because im 15 and cant drive or ship it.

  • Mate, i have the same kit, but with Remo Pinstripe heads on toms and a Remo Powerstroke 4 head on my snare, and it doesnt sound anything like that. I have the kit in my carport, with open walls, so sound just travels straight out, also its on concrete, would this affect it a lot? And how did you tune them. Like how much looser are the resident heads than the top heads? Also, do you have any muffling in your bass drum?

  • Great sounding kit! I love the bass drum!

  • im a carrot

  • I have a double bass set FZ with black hardware, and a Drum Dial. Couldn't you give me the tension readings?, because you tuned it amazingly.

  • planet z apesta

  • yours sound so much better than mine

  • This forum is the fz725z??

  • What's better ? Export ELX 5 or Forum?

  • @lgalovic1 The Elx is a better quality kit. The shells are better quality and there are better quality hardware and fittings used.

  • Holy crap I have the original pearl forum (not the fz) i have remo pinstripes on my batter sides of my toms and clear ambassadors on the reso and they sound flat and papery nothing like the ones in this video sound! I also tune with a drum dial. I'm trying to figure out why they don't sound good could it be the room?

  • @dforcefan1213 there are so many variables to look into why the drums dont sound like they do in this video.

We wouldn't be able to tell you whats wrong.

Even though tuning with a drum dial there is still a chance that your tuning to the wrong tensions.

Drum dials dont tune the drums for you they just tell you precisely how to get the tension that you know works on your drums,

So if some one doesnt know how to tune drums and they try and use a drum dial it wont work.

  • @DrumtekDrums My snare sounds awesome when I tune with the drum dial but maybe I'll just go back to tuning my toms by ear and feel. Thanks for the advice!

  • @dforcefan1213 What readings do you use for the snare on the Drum Dial?

  • @dhonnar I think Its on 91 for top and 81 on bottom. Its extremely tight! My snares not the stock forum snare though, its a pearl steel piccolo 13x3.

  • @dforcefan1213 /dude i have the same.. and i use a drumdial and have tried tuning in lower then higher and still cant get it to sound that good, Were you able to get you snare past 82 on the drum dial? I couldnt.

  • @kitty8sam1 think I have my snare on like 91 but the lugs wont budge haha. Its a steel piccolo though so its meant to be tight. Just keep practicing tuning, I retuned the other day and recorded some stuff and they sound great!

  • I find it impressive how good it sounds with stock heads.

  • @ChimPiZGaY

Then imagine what it sounds like with A set of A grade skins on it.

  • I have this same kit just with black hardware and zildjian zht's

  • 0 dislikes!

  • Nice playing haha I learned some fills and beats from this video! Sadly I won't be able to apply them because my e.drums broke. Hope I get the forum soon for my birthday!

  • this kit has a pretty dang good out of the box sound. i bought mine based on the fact that i was under a huge budget and i do have the money to get something higher up on the food chain but im satisfied with this for now =)

  • wow. my forum doesnt sound anywhere near as good as this kit

  • Finally a video of these drums with a drummer that can actually play them! lol

  • @mattsmusicstudio

Thanks for the ego boost. haha

  • @DrumtekDrums no problem, I was very glad to see this video, was shopping for drums and wanted the hear how these sounded, ultimately this is what I ordered, All other videos I had watched were either bad quality, or bad playing, usually both. But good video and good playing here! Thanks!

  • do you recomend this kit to be used in concerts?

  • @Muertodeaththrash depending on what sort of concerts you are looking at playing for...

if you want the best sound from the drums i would recommend some a-grade 2 ply quality heads like Remo emperors.

I do have a few customers that use them for regular gigs but they do look after them very well and make sure they have good heads and tuned.

  • Wher did you get the extra Tom

  • @TheTHobso

Pearl was running a promotiion and were doing the extra 8" or 10" depending on the kit size free with forum and Vision kits.

    The extra toms are available...

call us and we can work out what it would be worth to you depending on the kit you have.

    thanks

  • would you reccomend this set to a semi pro player?

  • @MrStockholmz

theres a lot to consider for semi pro players choosing a kit for themselves.

How much , what sort of sound you want , how good you want the hardware to be Etc...

In the pearl range i would be more incline to lean towards the Vision VBX 100% birch kits for a semi pro level player who does gigs but more as a hobby.

The forum kit is a great staring kit or second kit for people who aspire to be either pro or semi pro.

  • gettin a new all black one of these with black hardware its a 7 piece double bass

  • @guitarguymasterdude1 nice one.

they are a very popular kit.

good quality at an affordable price point. when you get it take a video and put it up as a video response.

  • @DrumtekDrums gettin a chris adler snare too when i get that set ill show it all in the video

  • @DrumtekDrums I also a Peal Forum, I am very satisfied, I do not understand the bad reputation of poplar shells, I think it also depends on the quality of construction. I changed the Hi Hat Stand for a 900. I changed the heads on the snare whit Evans EC1 and 300, the result is amazing. However, I can not have a good result with the bass. I want to change the heads of the toms, I very like Evans, therefore G2 or EC2?

  • @guitarguymasterdude1 im getting one the same as yours but only 1 bass lol!

  • @Hughzacoolan127 me too :D

  • i have a pearl forum fz, white/black finish, the one with bigger tom's it sounds so good, i dont know why people reckon there so bad?

  • @coutafhc There not dude, people who are saying that may be more jazz drummers. Smaller kits are more preferable for jazz players, and your kit for rock.
