when exactly is the sabbath? surely it has to be the same day for all? why does Christendom set out Sunday as the rest day? when the true original hebrew sabbath is a day before?
The Sabbath begins at sundown friday until sundown Saturday.
Christendom set Sunday as the day of worship when Rome under Constantine accepted Christ.
Rome was worshiping the sun god "Sol Invitcus" on Sunday which they called the Lord's Day. When they became christian they adopted Sunday as the day of worship.
Sunday is a pagan day of worship which began in ancient Babylon around the time of Nimrod.
Deut. 12:31 "You must not worship Yahweh your God in their way."
Rom 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Amen. YHVH is very clear that we will know Him when we honor His Sabbath(s). His Holy days reveal His identity which helps to protect us from the deceiver who will come before Yeshua returns. Wonderful video.
You have to take the day for the Lord, It doesn't mean you can't do anything but it mean for me that I want to past the majority of my time reading the bible, praying or knowing more about him. That Sabbath start at sunset on sunday and finish at sunset on saterday.
lol @ richardperry2 . Read the rest of Romans 7. Sheesh. Works Salvation, Sacred Name Obsessiveness, Sabbath Keeping, Mid Tribulational Rapturism. I think I'll un-sub thanks. Oh yeah, and get a REAL Bible - a King James. Prayerfully the Spirit of God reveals the TRUTH to you.
"Stop following the teachings of men and follow Yahweh and trust in Him alone" - Oh you mean like you, Richard Perry. OK! UN-SUBBED.
I agree the Sabbath is not required for salvation and a true faith. But let us not forget this:
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws." Ezekiel 36:26-27
My mistake you are absolutely right. None of us can keep even the ten commandments.
Now I get it. The law IS good, but God always knew that we will not be able to keep it. However , he needed to establish the law so we know right from wrong(moral guidance)
No no no, I unsure whether or not I understood your statement correctly.
We have to walk in righteousness according to the Scripture, to grow in Holiness. A good way to check whether you are doing this is by reading and examining yourself in consonce with 1 John.
He wrote that letter for the purpose of checking whether or not we are in the way of the Lord.
The feast of the Lord are important, and we should remember them, but my point is that Sabbath is not obligatory.
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
This is not even fulfilled yet, but it proves that:
Sabbath is Holy and it is His Holy commandment just like "do not steal".
I am not arguing that Sabbath is not Holy. What I argue is the Observance of the Sabbath as mandatory.
Is the mandatory Observance of the Sabbath mandatory now? I do not see evidence x that in the Scripture, and my point is saying that it is, makes God a lier, because He works on Sabbaths.
Romans 14:5 is not speaking of Sabbath, but fasting.
Hos 2:11 I will also cause all her mirth to cease (repose/desist), her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
If this would not be temporal; Isa 66:23 etc. would not be true.
I already explained why God can work on Sabbath but we cant. For your lie to be true; God would not even have commanded to rest on the seventh day of the week called Sabbath.
If "do not steal" is mandatory, so is Sabbath, period.
No man, you need to study the commandments. You need to read Deut. 5 and understand the purpose of the Sabbath, to begin with. It is explicit there. Then you need to track what God says about the observance of the Sabbath. He was not happy. In the same way, He was not happy with sacrifices. He emphasises many times that He wants Holiness from the heart to the outside. Sabbath is sth external.
This is what Christ explains to the Jews that stood on ur very same position.
After the crucifiction of Christ, we donot need 2 remember what happened in the times of Moses and Joshua. It is optional. But non-of-these external things will make you holy at all.
God wants your 2b righteous n humble with him. It is in both testaments.
The reason why God can work on Sabbath, it is because God made it x men, and He is Lord of the Sabbath.
Making sth optional, does not kill it. That why u can say from one (optional) sabbath to the other.
So you could obey and make God happy or not obey and God would overlook it? This is not the way the Kingdom of Heaven works. You do not have an option to obey or not to obey Gods commandments. God expects obedience of everyone.
I do not accept anti-christian teachings, period. (1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the Law.)
I too break the Sabbath, but i NEVER EVER claim that IT'S NOT WRONG.
Keksinnot Again, you do not understand my words. Unfortunately, I did not say that the Sabbath is wrong, I said it is not obligatory. Do you see the difference?
I did not say that we should not obey God's commandments, I say we must. However, you need to understand the Sabbath, before claiming it is obligatory.
What I have been saying is what Apostle Paul said, and others did. You stand on its mandatory status, while I say it is optional.
You can say its optional, but it isn't according to bible.
Isaiah 56: 6. "And the foreigners who join themselves to Yahweh, to minister to him, to love his name, and to be his servants, every one who keeps the Sabbath, and does not profane it, and holds fast my covenant -- 7. these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer;
Its so simple in the bible: If you love Me; you keep my Words.
The difference of the Sabbath is that it is an "external" commandment, thus it is not the core of the law the Sabbath. The Law underscore bad things that comes from inside of the man. The Sabbath is an exception.
Later, the big commandment is to love God with... and the second ur neighbour...
These commandments aim mainly at holiness, to the heart. The sabbath is external.
Anyways, Keksinnot .. lets put an end to this arguement. I like to have honest discussion withh brothers.
I never intended to claim I have the truth and it always helps to examine my beliefs. I tried to be humble, and share my understanding of the Scriptures with other.
I see the same intention on your side. I hope Our Beloved God have mercy with us all the time and keep us in His Love.
The sabbath is for the children of Israel. I think the false doctrine of somehow the church is Israel really has created many false doctrines. The gentiles were never given the same covenant as the children of Israel. The feast days, sabbaths, sacrifices were not for the gentiles, they were never addressed to the gentiles.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days.
And, making a call to observe and keep the Sabbath seems to be inappropiate.
We have to ask our loving God to bear fruits of repetance with/in us. If you check how many times God called in the OT to walk in humbleness with him and act righteouness. You will see How important in ask for growing in holiness.
Now I know why I was repeatedly called a Gomer as a child. I was one of her children. I was nothing. I was noone. I was without mercy until the Messiah found me wandering away. He brought me back home.
.. that suggets the plan of God since its inception to put an end to it.
Deut. 6:5 "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might."
Deut. 30:6 "Moreover the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live."
I am unsure whether calling to observe the Sabbath is biblical as there are some verses such as Hosea 2:11:
" I will also put an end to all her gaiety, Her feasts, her new moons, her sabbaths. And all her festal assemblies. "
Romans 14:5, 6: "One person esteems one day above another, another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. . . ."
agfigueroaa:Yeshua kept the sabbath, it is the 4th commandment, and the only 1 that says 2 REMEMBER, understanding that some would think it doesn't exist. As followers of the messiah, we have to truly follow him and keep holy what is holy to him. Hosea 2:11 we have not been given any indication that the sabbath has ceased. As for Romans....you have to decide if you want to follow Paul or Yeshua. I choose Yeshua. If any man, no matter who he is teaches something different, don't follow him.
I DO know him. It's not Yeshua, it's Jesus Christ. The name that is mocked, used as a curse word and despised today... that's his name. You Hebrew Roots guys are a joke. Seriously. If you light a fire or leave your property on the Sabbath, you have broken the sabbath when you turn on the oven or go to your sabbatarian false church. You're cronic Sabbath-breakers by your own admission. What a joke calling Sunday Worship mark of the beast. LOL! U don't know anything about rightly dividing.
The Hewbrew Root guys as you called, sometime they forget the promise that God made to Abraham. that is, that he will bless all the nations of the earth.
I do agree with you that God in the OT and the NT is calling for another kind of worship, quite different from keeping the sabbath. Almost every prophet underscored that the type of worship that God wanted was the type discribed in Micai 6:8. This is consistent with the NT.
Well church did keep the Shabbath, it is clear from NT. Plus, it is clear that Jews (all tribes of Israel are required to keep The Law) and that gentiles who believe in Jewish Messiah have become citizens of Israel. Are required by God to keep His Law (which is Spiritual).
If this is not true, you have to break Paul's words and take away Jas 2:10 and much more.
We are not under the curse of The Law. Is Law a curse? Certainly not! (Rom 7:13,,) Then what is? A: Judgment produced by Sin!
Love God + Love your neighbor this is ALL the commandments and prophets.
Jesus could touch the leper because if He wouldn't He would have broken The Law of Love. (two greatest commandments are btw directly from Lev 19:18 and Deu 6:5).
In the "new" covenant Law is written onto our hearts, SO we can do what is BEST!
His Ruach Ha'Qodesh should tell you if you are to save the cow on Shabbath or not!
Does that mean that Shabbath is not required to be kept? Certainly not!
@keksinot Ok, it is clear that you do not understand your first quote. God did not remove the Sabbath from the calendar, but He stopped the celebrations. This is the flaw on your reasoning.
As for the verses in Hebrew, you again have a fail in you line of reasoning. Check the Deut. verses I quoted previously, when Moses explained the reasons for the Sabbath, you will understand that for Joshua is was compulsory to keep it.
@keksinot, my authority is the Scripture. I already quoted Romans and OT passages where this issue of the Sabbath is clarified.
However, if you study the OT you will have repeated instances where God tells explicitly what to do, and this does mainly include act righteouness and being humble before God.
The Sabbath is optional as stated by Apostle Paul in Romans.
Jesus never sinned so he kept ALL the commandments. Also Jesus can break the law but we are to keep his commandments also also the ten commandments. The ten commandments are before the mosaic law.
@szanyivica Yes, God works on Sabbath, Jesus worked on Sabbath. Did they sinned? no. The reason: The sabbath was made in order to remember what God did for the Jews in the dessert. It was made for them to remember. This is not my take, it is what Moses said in Deut. 5.
Do we need to remember that? I think it is optional, as we have to remmeber Jesus, thats why we have to celebrate the last supper.
@keksinnot While I do agree with your first four assertions, I do disagree with your last statement.
My position is supported by the previous verse from Roman I quoted. But, now I will bring another aspect you seem to fail to consider:
Deut. 5:15 "15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. THEREFORE the LORD your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day. "
Romans you quoted do not talk about Sabbath, but fasting. This is supported by context.
Exo 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Exo 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
FOR EVER!
If you are not made citizen of Israel, you are not even saved. (Eph 2:12)
Thus, it is clear that the Sabbath has a underlying reason. After the crucifiction of Christ, there is no need to remember what happened to the Jews in the dessert. But rather, we need to remember the Love of God in the Cross of Christ. Thats why, I believe, Jesus sais that the son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath. Thats why Paul said it is optional, thats why God works on sabbaths, thats why the disciples worked on sabbath.
As for Paul, unfortunately, Luke in his gospel tell us that Jesus Himself clarified the Scriptures to the Apostles. Further, we found the book of Acts, written by one of those Apostles, telling us about the ministry of Paul. Luke does not seem to call him an Heritic, quite contrary, he seems to support Paul's apostleship.
Thus, I thing Paul's apostleship is valid, biblical and according to Jesus.
@wheatandtares: If Luke could not call Paul an Heretic, I do not find any reason to call him an Heretic. Why do you call Him an Heretic? Heretic as He teaches sth different.
You are calling a disciple of Jesus an Heretic.
Hosea 2:11 He said that He will put an end to the Sabbath.
Furthermore, contrary to fasting, there is no indication in the NT on keeping the Sabbath as obligatory. Indeed, there are indication in the OT that God was not happy with the observance of the Sabbath.
agfigueroaa, I don't follow Paul because his teachings are not the same as Jesus. Jesus kept the torah, sabbath, holy days & commandments, Paul teaches both sides sometimes he says we should sometimes he says we shouldn't. I don't think there are 13 apostles, only 12. However, if you do follow Paul, anything that he teaches that is contrary to the teaching of Jesus should not be followed. To me Paul is equivalent to a modern day Benny Hinn. The christian church follows Paul more than Jesus.
As for the observance of the Torah, I think Paul is preaching the same thing that we found in both verses from Deut. I previously quoted.
That is, Romans is in perfect agreement with a heart cirscumsised. I do see the same thing in Ezekiel 36, where God promised to change the heart of the believer.
agfigueroaa: I tried to send you a personal message but it says your channel is not available in my country (US). I have several video's (not by me) on my channel that show the contradictions, some are minor, some are major if you care to view them. Everyone has the right to believe what they want, if you want to see what I am talking about, you can watch the video's, it's up to you. Peace & blessings from our Father in Heaven to you.
"I have several video's (not by me) on my channel that show the contradictions"
Paul had a Jesus centered gospel....I dont know why some people are so angry with him...i dont think is only envy is something else, i sense it. I saw many videos from your frined and really none of them were accurate to describe the context and intentions of Paul on his words, all of his words are taken out of the purpose of the moment, i even wrote to an anti-paul guy about this and he didnt know the real reason
IsaacBG84, I think the trick is the same old trick used by Satan when the wanted to over-stress the relevance of the Sabbath in the Old Times.
I think it is an attempt of Satan of slandering the Scriptures to go back to a work-based salvation. A subtle one, where the observance of a ritual has some sort of key aspect.
However, Christ explicitly talked about fasting. Who many do fast?
Or how many do really observe the Sabbath in completeness?
If we Read about Paul in the Jerusalem Council we can find out that Jews were trying to impose works on the gentiles but the Holy Spirit marked a different way..Theres no Sabath on the laws to keep in the JErulam council that Paul and the apostles agreed
@wheatandtares: I think This resembles the problem of wanting to do sth to show that we love the things of God, or many times to love God. This is to say, to have some assurance. I am not sure however whether this is biblical assurance.
Deut. 10:12-13, Micah 6:8 "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
Yeshua did not keep the sabbath days. That is a lie. Jesus said he worked on the sabbath. The only reason he was persecuted was for breaking the sabbath. God in the OT said to kill a man that picked up a stick on the sabbath. Yeshua told a man to carry his bed on the sabbath. Seventh Day Adventists is a religion full of false doctrines following a cult leader. Leave and find the truth of the word. God bless
Stewarts16, so basically what you are saying is that Father God sent his son Jesus to earth to tell us it's ok to break the commandments that was established by God, it's especially ok to break the 4th commandment, the one that says to REMEMBER it. If this is true then Jesus is nothing more than a rebellious son (which he is not) I wouldn't serve a god like that. Deut 29:9-15 - Although gentiles are not REQUIRED to keep the torah, we are invited to, (we are the strangers in the camp.)
Jesus preached numerous times about everything but the Sabbath. Please read the New Testament. God hated the Sabbath and Holy days. That's why he didn't keep the Sabbath. What covenant are you a part of the new covenant with Jesus or the covenant with the Jacob? Or the covenant with Abraham? Or the covenant with Noah? Or the covenant with Adam? I follow the new covenant with God in the flesh. God bless
Do you know why Jesus broke the old law by breaking the sabbath and encouraging his disciples and man at the bath house to? It is explained in the bible.
Galatians 3:19 gives the purpose of the Law. It says: "What, then, was the purpose of he law? It was added because of transgressions UNTIL THE SEED to whom the promise referred had come."
The SEED IS JESUS CHRIST! He came with a new covenant. GENTILE Christians are NOT the sons of Israel, anyway who the covenant was for Exodus 12, 31.
If you want to be part of the covenant with Israel, then keep the torah, if you don't want to, then don't keep the torah. If you follow Paul (which I don't) but if you do, anything that he teaches that is contrary to the teachings of Jesus should be voided. Jesus said he did not come to abolish the law. I believe that Paul for the most part kept the torah, but it is clear that he taught against it. I'm not part SDA, I follow "Jesus" only and I think his real name is Yeshua.
People call themselves following "Jesus" but they want any part of the torah, commands, holy days & feast. Why say you are a disciple of someone if you are not going to imitate his teachings, U are just wasting UR time. Find someone else to call UR Messiah. Many people serve him with words but no action because they are overcome by Paul's gospel of grace. We are judged by our works. He said if u love me keep my commands. The law and grace work together, when U try to keep the law but fail to
Who is the accusser? You do know that the Sabbath has nothing to do with going to church, right?
#1 Sabbath "you shall not do any work"
Exo 20,34, Deut 5,15.
#2 Jesus said on the Sabbath day: "My Father worketh hitherto, and I WORK." John 5:17
Sabbath is the sign of the Israelite covenant.
"The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites." (Exo 31:12-17)
Now you try and separate the Jew and the Gentile, friend you really need to study a little more. I suggest the book of Matthew to start , and this is new Testament, only looking out for you not looking to critize or offend. G-d will except only those who keep His laws. You might just want to trust me on that. Also in Romans read what Paul has to say about circumcision. Only trying to help .not trying to offend you,but it is a really important sign to G-d that you follow the Seventh Day
In the kingdom of God and the promise of eternal life through Christ there is no difference between Jew and Gentile. I will not waste my time on an unlearned person. Because that is what I am commanded to do. Too bad you can't even answer an important bible question, and are in apostacy not even knowing who the covenants are with and their meanings.
If you say you are a Jew and are a gentile you are of the Synogogue of Satan (Rev 2-3).
When God made a covenant with Noah after the flood the sign of the covenant was a rainbow. "...This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you (Read Gen 9:12-17). That means You too!
When God made a covenant with Abraham, the sign of the covenant was circumcision. (Gen17:10-14).
Do you know the sign of the new covenant? You should know all of the teachings of Jesus, for which we are judged. That's what is truly important!
Excellent truth for TODAY, we must return to Yahwehs ways (TORAH), if we want to escape the things to come, by escape I mean to be protected as Yeshua was protected. Yahweh Bless.
The Messiah warned repeatedly about a man who would come after him and claim that he was an Apostle, claim that he was sent by God and that he would perform signs and wonders. This man was able to steal Israel's identity and caused Israel to truly be scattered all over the earth.
So said Paul. And every other heretic that ever wanted to fleece the sheep.
But he changed his story 3 times in Acts about the event. In any court that would be called a lie.
Peter set the standard for ONE Apostle to replace Judas in Acts 1. Paul was not even in the running for the position. I could say my dog is an Apostle and would you believe that too?
1) Christ was not warning about a false apostle, He was warning about the False Messiah.
2) I only recall this one warning in John 5:43 "I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him."
All of Matt 23 condems the Pharisees. Who were Talmudic Midrash Kabbalists just as the Zionists are today. Indeed it is time to wake up, and stop following the first Antichrist. And follow Yahshua only. Does Paul ever tell us to pray in the only name that saves? NO! Does Paul tell us that Yahshua speaks in Parables? NO! Does Paul tell us that Yahshua came in the flesh? NO! Does Paul add to the Torah with Pharisee Kabbalist teaching? YES! Paul's dodtrine of BODY OF CHRIST is from Kabbalah.
I will warn you though, once you find this path you will start to understand what the Messiah meant when he said the world will hate you. You will be mocked and scorned and called a heretic and accused of trying to mislead people. The more you are attacked though remember they crucified the Messiah.
I do not see that verse as saying ONE will come in my Father's name and pretend to be Me. I see it as saying to the Pharisees, "you do not accept me," but you will accept someone else (ie: others). He is mocking them for not accepting Him as He was foretold. The Pharisees, scribes, Sudacees at the time, accepted many false prophets who came in the name of Yahweh.
The Man of Sin thrashes Jerusalem for 42 months. The Jewish Messiah does not do that. The Jewish Messiah will destroy the Muslims.

@keksinnot, again, this is not a call x celebrating sabbath. It is the same thing if I say from one Christmas to the next... as a temporal reference.
How do u deal with Romans 14:5, 6 and Hosea 2:11?
I am not arguing that Sabbath is not Holy. What I argue is the Observance of the Sabbath as mandatory.
Is the mandatory Observance of the Sabbath mandatory now? I do not see evidence x that in the Scripture, and my point is saying that it is, makes God a lier, because He works on Sabbaths.

I did not say that we should not obey God's commandments, I say we must. However, you need to understand the Sabbath, before claiming it is obligatory.
What I have been saying is what Apostle Paul said, and others did. You stand on its mandatory status, while I say it is optional.
Yes, God expects Holiness from everyone.

You can say its optional, but it isn't according to bible.
Isaiah 56: 6. "And the foreigners who join themselves to Yahweh, to minister to him, to love his name, and to be his servants, every one who keeps the Sabbath, and does not profane it, and holds fast my covenant -- 7. these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer;
Its so simple in the bible: If you love Me; you keep my Words.
Same is clearly seen here in Isaiah.
God wants us to really love him!
keksinnot 2 years ago
It is according to the Bible.
The sabbath is external.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
Anyways, Keksinnot .. lets put an end to this arguement. I like to have honest discussion withh brothers.
I never intended to claim I have the truth and it always helps to examine my beliefs. I tried to be humble, and share my understanding of the Scriptures with other.
I see the same intention on your side. I hope Our Beloved God have mercy with us all the time and keep us in His Love.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
The sabbath is for the children of Israel. I think the false doctrine of somehow the church is Israel really has created many false doctrines. The gentiles were never given the same covenant as the children of Israel. The feast days, sabbaths, sacrifices were not for the gentiles, they were never addressed to the gentiles.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days.
(Colossians 2:16)
Stewarts16 2 years ago
And, making a call to observe and keep the Sabbath seems to be inappropiate.
We have to ask our loving God to bear fruits of repetance with/in us. If you check how many times God called in the OT to walk in humbleness with him and act righteouness. You will see How important in ask for growing in holiness.
Blessings!

Yes, Holiness!
"So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good." Romans 7:12
As, God commands, be holy because I am Holy!

He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. . . ."
agfigueroaa 2 years ago 2
agfigueroaa:Yeshua kept the sabbath, it is the 4th commandment, and the only 1 that says 2 REMEMBER, understanding that some would think it doesn't exist. As followers of the messiah, we have to truly follow him and keep holy what is holy to him. Hosea 2:11 we have not been given any indication that the sabbath has ceased. As for Romans....you have to decide if you want to follow Paul or Yeshua. I choose Yeshua. If any man, no matter who he is teaches something different, don't follow him.
wheatandtares 2 years ago
I DO know him. It's not Yeshua, it's Jesus Christ. The name that is mocked, used as a curse word and despised today... that's his name. You Hebrew Roots guys are a joke. Seriously. If you light a fire or leave your property on the Sabbath, you have broken the sabbath when you turn on the oven or go to your sabbatarian false church. You're cronic Sabbath-breakers by your own admission. What a joke calling Sunday Worship mark of the beast. LOL! U don't know anything about rightly dividing.
talkingfortruth 2 years ago
The Hewbrew Root guys as you called, sometime they forget the promise that God made to Abraham. that is, that he will bless all the nations of the earth.
I do agree with you that God in the OT and the NT is calling for another kind of worship, quite different from keeping the sabbath. Almost every prophet underscored that the type of worship that God wanted was the type discribed in Micai 6:8. This is consistent with the NT.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago 2
Well church did keep the Shabbath, it is clear from NT. Plus, it is clear that Jews (all tribes of Israel are required to keep The Law) and that gentiles who believe in Jewish Messiah have become citizens of Israel. Are required by God to keep His Law (which is Spiritual).
If this is not true, you have to break Paul's words and take away Jas 2:10 and much more.
We are not under the curse of The Law. Is Law a curse? Certainly not! (Rom 7:13,,) Then what is? A: Judgment produced by Sin!
keksinnot 2 years ago
Sir, can you provide verses in the NT, where it is commanded the observance of the Sabbath.
Did Jesus kept the Sabbath? He said that God works on Sabbaths... Is God a Sinner?
I am not claiming that, but it can be entailed from your statements.
I am glad about this discussion... :P
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
Jesus never sinned.
Certainly not!
keksinnot 2 years ago 2
Matthew 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day..
Why does He say this prophecy if Shabbath is not required?
Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.
Heb 4:9 There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
Why is this in Hebrews if Shabbath is not required?
By what authority you agfigueroaa do away Shabbath? Where does it say it is not required to keep?
keksinnot 2 years ago
@keksinot Ok, it is clear that you do not understand your first quote. God did not remove the Sabbath from the calendar, but He stopped the celebrations. This is the flaw on your reasoning.
As for the verses in Hebrew, you again have a fail in you line of reasoning. Check the Deut. verses I quoted previously, when Moses explained the reasons for the Sabbath, you will understand that for Joshua is was compulsory to keep it.
Hint: "you have the therefore particle in 4:9".
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
@keksinot, my authority is the Scripture. I already quoted Romans and OT passages where this issue of the Sabbath is clarified.
However, if you study the OT you will have repeated instances where God tells explicitly what to do, and this does mainly include act righteouness and being humble before God.
The Sabbath is optional as stated by Apostle Paul in Romans.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
Jesus never sinned so he kept ALL the commandments. Also Jesus can break the law but we are to keep his commandments also also the ten commandments. The ten commandments are before the mosaic law.
szanyivica 2 years ago
@szanyivica Yes, God works on Sabbath, Jesus worked on Sabbath. Did they sinned? no. The reason: The sabbath was made in order to remember what God did for the Jews in the dessert. It was made for them to remember. This is not my take, it is what Moses said in Deut. 5.
Do we need to remember that? I think it is optional, as we have to remmeber Jesus, thats why we have to celebrate the last supper.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
@keksinnot While I do agree with your first four assertions, I do disagree with your last statement.
My position is supported by the previous verse from Roman I quoted. But, now I will bring another aspect you seem to fail to consider:
Deut. 5:15 "15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. THEREFORE the LORD your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day. "
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
Romans you quoted do not talk about Sabbath, but fasting. This is supported by context.
Exo 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Exo 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
FOR EVER!
If you are not made citizen of Israel, you are not even saved. (Eph 2:12)
keksinnot 2 years ago
Thus, it is clear that the Sabbath has a underlying reason. After the crucifiction of Christ, there is no need to remember what happened to the Jews in the dessert. But rather, we need to remember the Love of God in the Cross of Christ. Thats why, I believe, Jesus sais that the son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath. Thats why Paul said it is optional, thats why God works on sabbaths, thats why the disciples worked on sabbath.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
@wheatandtares:
what do you do on the Sabbath?and,
What donot you do on the Sabbath?
As for Paul, unfortunately, Luke in his gospel tell us that Jesus Himself clarified the Scriptures to the Apostles. Further, we found the book of Acts, written by one of those Apostles, telling us about the ministry of Paul. Luke does not seem to call him an Heritic, quite contrary, he seems to support Paul's apostleship.
Thus, I thing Paul's apostleship is valid, biblical and according to Jesus.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
@wheatandtares: If Luke could not call Paul an Heretic, I do not find any reason to call him an Heretic. Why do you call Him an Heretic? Heretic as He teaches sth different.
You are calling a disciple of Jesus an Heretic.
Hosea 2:11 He said that He will put an end to the Sabbath.
Furthermore, contrary to fasting, there is no indication in the NT on keeping the Sabbath as obligatory. Indeed, there are indication in the OT that God was not happy with the observance of the Sabbath.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
agfigueroaa, I don't follow Paul because his teachings are not the same as Jesus. The christian church follows Paul more than Jesus.
wheatandtares 2 years ago
Jesus said that God works on Sabbaths. Is God a Sinner?
Jesus did things unlawful in agreement with the Sabbath Law. Was jesus a sinner?
What was the underlying meaning of the Sabbath? (I am actually thinking on this last question).
agfigueroaa 2 years ago 2
As for the observance of the Torah, I think Paul is preaching the same thing that we found in both verses from Deut. I previously quoted.
That is, Romans is in perfect agreement with a heart cirscumsised. I do see the same thing in Ezekiel 36, where God promised to change the heart of the believer.
I do not see any contradictions in the teachings.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
agfigueroaa: I tried to send you a personal message but it says your channel is not available in my country (US).
IsaacBG84 2 years ago
IsaacBG84, I think the trick is the same old trick used by Satan when the wanted to over-stress the relevance of the Sabbath in the Old Times.
I think it is an attempt of Satan of slandering the Scriptures to go back to a work-based salvation. A subtle one, where the observance of a ritual has some sort of key aspect.
However, Christ explicitly talked about fasting. Who many do fast?
Or how many do really observe the Sabbath in completeness?
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
thats it, you hit the nail about these guys.....
If we Read about Paul in the Jerusalem Council we can find out that Jews were trying to impose works on the gentiles but the Holy Spirit marked a different way..Theres no Sabath on the laws to keep in the JErulam council that Paul and the apostles agreed
IsaacBG84 2 years ago
In the NT, I have not found any reference where the Observance of the Sabbath is obligatory. Only optional according to the concience.
I think some people observe the sabbath as a way of assurance, I do not kjnow if this is biblical assurance.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago 2
I will send you a message, this way you can follow up the thread.
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
@wheatandtares: I think This resembles the problem of wanting to do sth to show that we love the things of God, or many times to love God. This is to say, to have some assurance. I am not sure however whether this is biblical assurance.
Deut. 10:12-13, Micah 6:8 "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
agfigueroaa 2 years ago
Yeshua did not keep the sabbath days. That is a lie. Jesus said he worked on the sabbath. The only reason he was persecuted was for breaking the sabbath. God in the OT said to kill a man that picked up a stick on the sabbath. Yeshua told a man to carry his bed on the sabbath. Seventh Day Adventists is a religion full of false doctrines following a cult leader. Leave and find the truth of the word. God bless
Stewarts16 2 years ago
Stewarts16, so basically what you are saying is that Father God sent his son Jesus to earth to tell us it's ok to break the commandments that was established by God, it's especially ok to break the 4th commandment, the one that says to REMEMBER it. If this is true then Jesus is nothing more than a rebellious son (which he is not) I wouldn't serve a god like that. Deut 29:9-15 - Although gentiles are not REQUIRED to keep the torah, we are invited to, (we are the strangers in the camp.)
wheatandtares 2 years ago
Jesus preached numerous times about everything but the Sabbath. Please read the New Testament. God hated the Sabbath and Holy days. That's why he didn't keep the Sabbath. What covenant are you a part of the new covenant with Jesus or the covenant with the Jacob? Or the covenant with Abraham? Or the covenant with Noah? Or the covenant with Adam? I follow the new covenant with God in the flesh. God bless
Stewarts16 2 years ago
These are lies from the pit of hell. Don't say God Bless to me, after you post your arrogant snide remarks. Get behind me satan.
wheatandtares 2 years ago
Why is it that nowhere in the NT failure to keep the Sabbath day condemned as sin?
Why is the fourth commandment itself not repeated even ONCE in the NT?
If the Sabbath keeping is so important for a disciple of Christ, why was it not mentioned in His sermon on the Mount or in ANY of His teachings?
Why didn't Jesus command Sabbath keeping?
Why didn't any of the Apostles command Sabbath keeping?
Why didn't the Jerusalem counsel command Sabbath keeping or condemn Sabbath breaking?
Stewarts16 2 years ago
Do you know why Jesus broke the old law by breaking the sabbath and encouraging his disciples and man at the bath house to? It is explained in the bible.
Galatians 3:19 gives the purpose of the Law. It says: "What, then, was the purpose of he law? It was added because of transgressions UNTIL THE SEED to whom the promise referred had come."
The SEED IS JESUS CHRIST! He came with a new covenant. GENTILE Christians are NOT the sons of Israel, anyway who the covenant was for Exodus 12, 31.
Stewarts16 2 years ago
If you want to be part of the covenant with Israel, then keep the torah, if you don't want to, then don't keep the torah. If you follow Paul (which I don't) but if you do, anything that he teaches that is contrary to the teachings of Jesus should be voided. Jesus said he did not come to abolish the law. I believe that Paul for the most part kept the torah, but it is clear that he taught against it. I'm not part SDA, I follow "Jesus" only and I think his real name is Yeshua.
wheatandtares 2 years ago

Stewarts16 2 years ago

Now you try and separate the Jew and the Gentile, friend you really need to study a little more. I suggest the book of Matthew to start , and this is new Testament, only looking out for you not looking to critize or offend. G-d will except only those who keep His laws. You might just want to trust me on that. Also in Romans read what Paul has to say about circumcision. Only trying to help .not trying to offend you,but it is a really important sign to G-d that you follow the Seventh Day
vasiliosrigos 2 years ago
In the kingdom of God and the promise of eternal life through Christ there is no difference between Jew and Gentile. I will not waste my time on an unlearned person. Because that is what I am commanded to do. Too bad you can't even answer an important bible question, and are in apostacy not even knowing who the covenants are with and their meanings.
If you say you are a Jew and are a gentile you are of the Synogogue of Satan (Rev 2-3).
Stewarts16 2 years ago
When God made a covenant with Noah after the flood the sign of the covenant was a rainbow. "...This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you (Read Gen 9:12-17). That means You too!
When God made a covenant with Abraham, the sign of the covenant was circumcision. (Gen17:10-14).
Do you know the sign of the new covenant? You should know all of the teachings of Jesus, for which we are judged. That's what is truly important!

The Messiah warned repeatedly about a man who would come after him and claim that he was an Apostle, claim that he was sent by God and that he would perform signs and wonders. This man was able to steal Israel's identity and caused Israel to truly be scattered all over the earth.

It's doubtful that He meant Paul, since Paul was specifically commissioned by Christ.

You are not exactly correct on two counts:
1) Christ was not warning about a false apostle, He was warning about the False Messiah.
2) I only recall this one warning in John 5:43 "I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him."
Do you know of another time?

All of Matt 23 condems the Pharisees. Who were Talmudic Midrash Kabbalists just as the Zionists are today. Indeed it is time to wake up, and stop following the first Antichrist. And follow Yahshua only. Does Paul ever tell us to pray in the only name that saves? NO! Does Paul tell us that Yahshua speaks in Parables? NO! Does Paul tell us that Yahshua came in the flesh? NO! Does Paul add to the Torah with Pharisee Kabbalist teaching? YES! Paul's dodtrine of BODY OF CHRIST is from Kabbalah.
handydude6 2 years ago
I was talking about Matthew Chapter 24:5.
If you are looking for the good soil, the Messiah will lead you to it.
wayisnarrow 2 years ago
I will warn you though, once you find this path you will start to understand what the Messiah meant when he said the world will hate you. You will be mocked and scorned and called a heretic and accused of trying to mislead people. The more you are attacked though remember they crucified the Messiah.
wayisnarrow 2 years ago
I do not see that verse as saying ONE will come in my Father's name and pretend to be Me. I see it as saying to the Pharisees, "you do not accept me," but you will accept someone else (ie: others). He is mocking them for not accepting Him as He was foretold. The Pharisees, scribes, Sudacees at the time, accepted many false prophets who came in the name of Yahweh.
The Man of Sin thrashes Jerusalem for 42 months. The Jewish Messiah does not do that. The Jewish Messiah will destroy the Muslims.
