In the case of this song, I will give the nod to Keith Martin because he is a true vocalist. BSB, like N'Sync & Britney Spears was created to cater to the masses and had a marketing plan in mind with a ROI. Keith Martin's marketing was incorporated with the Bad Boys soundtrack that did well overall. However, Keith's album release never got the exposure that BSB got.

Who cares if you heard them sing? all i'm saying is that Keith's version to me is way more soulful. I listened to Bsb version over and over again and maybe because they were really young but honestly they just sounded like a few kids they stuck into the both and say hey ,sing this right here. Keith Martin or his management clearly took this song & the writer approved of him doing so. No one at that time in the industry, including songwriters were interested in an all white R&B vocal group. In a last minute effort to include this on his April '95 album, Keith recorded this in LATE '94, to master & release in Feb 95 as a single.

I literally had no clue who these guys were & thought they were great R&B vocalists for being young white guys. Few months later, I hear Keith Martin's version(radio) & loved it. At that time 15 yrs ago I also wondered why I heard those white guys sing it & wondered why I couldn't find their version in music stores. I search online(AOL) & only turned up with Keith Martin/Bad Boys OST.

On the same trip I saw the I'll Never Break Your Heart video for the 1st time. That was unbeknownst to me the replacement for this song after Keith took it.

Being a final year law student, I can see how Keith got away with releasing his version.The BSB who recorded this first neglected to contact a copyright lawyer to register a copyright for it & inform Jive Records of their plans before the end of 1994,which by then Keith was still recording his album due in April.He wisely released his 1st.

I love Keith Martin, but he didn't originally record this. The BSB originally planned their 1st album for release in early 1995, but 1 day in March '95 Brian Littrell heard Keith Martin's version on the radio. They were very unhappy considering they recorded their version in Aug 1994 before him. The writer & Jive had deceived them & gave Keith the song in late '94.He did a great job,but they never covered this.Keith did. He in fact helped delay their debut release in search of a new 1st single.
