I was referring to the Pretenders song "I'll Stand By You." There's a line that goes "Don't [pause] be ashamed to cry," exactly the same way Jade sings "Don't [pause] be afraid to cry" at 0:18. Another line in the Pretenders' song begins with "Hey" in exactly the way Jade does at 1:14. The rest of the Pretenders' verse has different words, but the same melody Jade uses here.
