I remember my 1.5_01 generated vanilla world whenever I hear any of these tunes. I had a mineshaft. I had a not-so good coaster. I had a cave house. I almost got lost looking for roses in 1.6.6. Then, MY WORLD CRASHED. With that, I cried. Then my 1.7-1.7.2 world, crashed, yada yada yada, and here we are in 1.1.
@edey8340b I know. I had a beautiful world, such beautiful mountains, blessed with so much greenery. Then more biomes came along. I couldn't copy the world: I started it in 1.7.3 and copying it would render a different world. The swampy biome rendered my beautiful shoreline a pityful mess. I developed so many ways to get down the mountain I lived on, it detroyed its natural beauty. I can't help but wish I had the sense back then to keep it as it was.
Aw man I remember playing this waaaaaaay back in Alpha, just before redstone was added. Man, all these people have awesome stories but nothing can truly beat your own personal experience...
This game will remain legendary for many many MANY years to come and will always be remembered as the game that was more powerful than any other. Thanks Notch for all the top class times with my family & friends<3.
I don't think it's Mojang's fault that Minecraft feels different than it does now. It's nobody's fault. It's the fact that we know so much about the game now, that there's no discovery to it any more. The things people do wrong out of ignorance is actually painful now. When was the last time you crafted a gold pickaxe to flatten an area of dirt? You couldn't, because you know it's wrong.

so many people including my friends say they miss the old minecraft, and i would always disagree, but as i think about it more and more i do miss beta 1.7 when i got the game, when i saw a mob i would freak out, and my houses were all made of dirt. i miss the old, simple minecraft...but i still enjoy the one i have now :)
Its actualy kind of funny how peoples minds work... When you first start playing the game you say "I don't like being a noob I dont know much about the game and people make fun of me for my lack of knowlege", but then once you have played the game for a long time and become a veteran, you wish you were a noob again so you could re-experience all the fun new things you discovered while playing.

@MichaelMrDoctor I didn't play until Beta 1.5 and I feel the same way. My theory isn't that the updates are inherently bad, but the game feels a little less fun after a while. By the time 1.8 came out, I was pro and the game was less fun.

@Mynameismegalex I figured the last sentence was in reference to when the player lies down in bed, staring into space until his or her eyes close and a blue haze overtakes the screen. I always imagined that was REM, or pre-dream sequence. But thanks, I love writing, I've been doing it for years. Just practice. Write whenever inspiration strikes. I first found out about Minecraft from a friend of mine, who showed me Episode 46 of X's Adventures in Minecraft on November 1st. That morning when I saw the video, it took me some time to appreciate the game. Around November 18, my friend bought the game. On about November 25, I went to his house in played. The version it was in was Alpha 1.2.3_01 or something like that. Currently, I am using a program that allows you to go back to any version. This song is my fav. & has always given me hope.

My second day in Minecraft, a Creeper blew up some dirt in front of my house. I was digging for cobblestone where the creeper exploded- when I stumbled upon an underground cavern. I ran back to my house and crafted some Torches, which I set up in the caverns. This song played- it made my discovery very adventerous. I still play it when I scout out the cavern.
One day I had a bad day.Went on Minecraft on Singleplayer because I didn't want to bare all the people on the server just talking and see the message box exploding full of words.As I played Singleplayer I was working continuously on my house until the next day arrived and the sun rose.I looked out the window and the music played.My day was the fullest and happiest because this music played and made me so very happy.

@Mynameismegalex I figured the last sentence was in reference to when the player lies down in bed, staring into space until his or her eyes close and a blue haze overtakes the screen. I always imagined that was REM, or pre-dream sequence. But thanks, I love writing, I've been doing it for years. Just practice. Write whenever inspiration strikes. For me, Minecraft is an excellent catalyst. I'd love to read something of yours if you think it's worthy of other eyes seeing it. :P

When I started my first world, it turned dark while I was building my house and it was raining. This song began to play, it lit up my spirit, I persevered, I chopped and I dug, I staved off creepers, this song helped me build not a house, but a home, I have never made a single change to that home since, I have never started a new world, I have never updated, this song will stay in my heart forever. I first found out about Minecraft from a friend of mine, who showed me Episode 46 of X's Adventures in Minecraft on November 1st. That morning when I saw the video, it took me some time to appreciate the game. Around November 18, my friend bought the game. On about November 25, I went to his house in played. The version it was in was Alpha 1.2.3_01 or something like that. Currently, I am using a program that allows you to go back to any version. This song is my fav. & has always given me hope.

My second day in Minecraft, a Creeper blew up some dirt in front of my house. I was digging for cobblestone where the creeper exploded- when I stumbled upon an underground cavern. I ran back to my house and crafted some Torches, which I set up in the caverns. This song played- it made my discovery very adventerous. I still play it when I scout out the cavern.

One day I had a bad day.Went on Minecraft on Singleplayer because I didn't want to bare all the people on the server just talking and see the message box exploding full of words.As I played Singleplayer I was working continuously on my house until the next day arrived and the sun rose.I looked out the window and the music played.My day was the fullest and happiest because this music played and made me so very happy.

wow this song brings me back. From the first time i played minecraft, i wanted to collect everything in sight. all the dirt, wood, stone, ect in the area. building my first house, my first mine, my first diamond. Playing on my first server. This is by far the most amazing and austounding game i have ever played. Such an epic mixture between creativity, exploring, and many other things. Markuss Persson should be very proud, and for this i thank him.
