@NoSteveNoJourney what a stupid comment!!! Are you an idiot??? I am an Perry fan, but Augeri and Arnel were and are good singers to front this band. Soto was not right for this band, he was a good fill in to finish the 2006 tour. Again NSNJ why are you an idiot????
@NoSteveNoJourney you are the idiot that is on every Journey Arnel video here on youtube. LOL You are correct theat no one will touch Perry, Augeri and Pineda were and are good enough to continue the Journey.
Thanks for posting this new version - enjoyed hearing it. I've attached the original, where the guitar solo is clearer but overall it lacks the live, heavy feel.
i am a big journey fan for the past ten years and i an 16 i fell in love with them when i heard any way you want it on depature the album. and i have to say shon could sing then too. such as the song people and places. he use to play for santana. he is the greatest underrated guitarist. he is incredible
This song is from the album "Generations". Neal did lead vocals on this song. Johnathan Cain did the lead vocals on the song "Every Generation" as well. Deen Castronovo sang lead vocals on two songs as well as Ross Valory who sang lead vocals on one as well. The album was released in 2005. Hope that this helps you out!
jheffley810 - Self Defence is an old song re-recorded. Originally from Escape sessions or late 82 pre-Frontiers sessions. Seems to be dubiety these days on its history - Schon now says '82, my memory is it was an unused Escape period track.
First appeared on the Hammer/Schon album Here to Stay in 1982 but was a Journey composition and recording - featured Schon on lead originally too, Perry was on original, on backing vocals.
I think Arnel Pinedas voice is the best singer since Perry left, my own opinion,he kinda sounds like him and Neal found him from You Tube, How cool is that!
I agree Augeri ruled!!!!! Perry was THE voice.....although in concert he tried too hard and ALWAYS went for "over the top". Augeri sang it the way it was recorded which to me shows more talent than trying too hard.
@Chris05161967 steve augeri didnt have an attitude problem at all.also he did lead vocals for more than two years he didnt want to go solo he left cause he had throat problems.
IS THAT A LES PAUL AXESS IN THE PHOTO? SOUNDS LIKE HE'S PLAYING A GUITAR WITH A FLOYD ROSE?

This song reminds me a lot of Van Halen's "Hang 'em High!" off the Diver Down album.

When was this song written? Was it left off of an album? Because it has Perry as one of the contributors.

Steve Augeri may be good looking, but he had an attitude problem. He only did lead vocals for two years then wanted to go solo, outright.
I also couldn't stand his leather pants.
