I didn't find the part where Shepard crawls towards Kaiden silly per se but I did feel like us girls got the short stick when it came to romances in the original. Our choices where to either go lesbian or hitch up with a guy that has the personality of a brick. Mass Effect 2 was much, much better in that regard (even if the scenes were less 'explicit')

Going "lesbian" didn't bother me since Liara technically isn't a female as Asari only have one gender. ME2 all FemShep has is reptilian looking aliens or a young Blade. I wished at least Tali would have been available to romance for FemShep. Or hell, even Miranda. ManShep seems to have the whole crew in his reach, but FemShep, not so much.

But regardless, FemShep should have slightly better options IMO. :-) Hell, in Dragon Age (also by BioWare) you have option for gay or les romance. :-\
@MaxiLuca That's probably why Bioware didn't make any of the alien romances in ME2 too explicit. Tali looks humanoid but what really is behind that mask. The world may never know.. 00; So I've heard. (I've only played a little bit of Dragon Age) Maybe there will be more romance options in ME3? A girl can hope x3
@MaxiLuca There is a mod/hack that you can do for FemShep that makes the game think you are a Male Shep, its basically Lesbian features on characters that are straight.
Female Shephard is... attractive (helps that she has Jennifer Hale/Bastila Shan's voice). I wish we could get a special edition of KOTOR with a scene of Bastila's nude backside like this. :D

Bisexual is a term referring to sexual preference not gender. Technically, she wouldn't have any sex organs, since Asari mate by melding minds. Even though asari would likely pass children through a uterus, that would be its only actual purpose.
The reason I say she could be a hermaphrodite is because she is able to reproduce as both a male and female. She could carry the child, or just as easily be the "father", giving out genetic information.
A Bisexual would and could not do that.
