The song is from the Boradway musical "Your Arms Are Too Short To Box With God" starring Patti LaBelle and Al Greene, back in the late 70's and early 80's.
@kkat13 - NO. I didn't mean LeAnn's version was THE original version, and from that perspective it is a remake. I meant it was a remake from the version that appeared in the film.
@dustyspiral No. The original was written by Edwin Hawkins and sung by Patti LaBelle for the soundtrack of a movie called "Leap Of Faith" starring Steve Martin.
Edwin Hawkins also wrote the modern version of the song "Oh Happy Day" (unless you thought they wrote that for Sister Act 2) and is considered a father of modern gospel sound.
I'm ready for all that you want LeAnn! Why not for a miracle! A beautiful voice and a beautiful woman. Make like brad pitt and angelina jolie, come leave in France!
Love this, but can someone make the lyrics for this song?

This is not a remake. Just looked it up on Amazon for info on the sound track. It says:
LeAnn Rimes leads off with a gospel-ish number that shows she can credibly sing in a more throaty and melismatic style.
