OK... I cant for the life of me get the cards to stay together past my finger tips. Once I get past the extent of my hands, the middle falls out... Got any tips?
My mandolin bicycles won't behave like that... They are too stiff. Yours look soft and springy. Is there some sort of conditioning procedure I have to do to get them like that? Also, how do you keep doing these moves without causing the cards to stick together from the finger grime? At the most, I can only use regular bikes for flourishing for about 2-3 days before they are ruined.
BTW, you look better with the hat. Male pattern baldness is a bitch.
Unfortunately they will just eventually wear out, what you can do is make sure to wash your hands everytime before you play with the cards, use a card clip (porper) and don't let anyone else touch them. I don't have too much experience with mandolins particularly, but the conditioning procedure is basically just breaking them in. Regular bikes from retailers are pretty soft to begin with. I also have freakishly strong hands... I hope this helps. And yeah, I like my hats too, :)
I am starting out in card magic (manipulation, flourishes and fans). I don't have the money or time to get DVDs or books and read them to find out how to do things. Because of this, I use YouTube, So I just wanted to say thank you for helping people like me out, it really helps. I do have one question though: Which brand of card is best? I tried Bicycle but don't like them. Right now I'm using a fresh pack of Bee cards, and they feel good so far (though they're hard to bend).
You're welcome! I wish I was able to fill YouTube with magic knowledge but I have to be careful not to expose magic, But I'm glad you find my videos helpful still. As far as the best cards, that's all a matter of personal taste. Unfortunately as much as companies try to make their newest deck sound like the best you have to remember that ultimately they are just paper and ink. I like bicycles and studs best because they are cheap and I ruin so many decks when I perform.
hello alan, i love ur vids and was wondering if you could do a review on the stud deck? it woulkd be much appreciated and maybe do a tutorial waterfalls? plz reply
Thanks man! Actually I already have a review of the stud deck on my channel, search for "stud" and you should be able to find it! I'm actually going to be uploading a waterfall tutorial in a few minutes from now, so keep tuned! :)
Hey, it really doesn't matter what state the cards are in when you do this, more worn cards will obviously not have as much spring but I've been able to do this with any pack. I prefer though new cards because LePaul spreads break cards in pretty quickly. Hope that answers your question!

Yes, actually I have two porpers. XD I always thought a porper was a cross between a pig and a dolphin.
