Weak recording here of what sounds like a fun 84 show. Cool photos. Dead shows were unbelievably fun. No concerts today remotely compare to the Grateful Dead on a good night. The music, the fun, the cool people, the atmosphere, the culture, the cute girl you just met, a good venue, etc all combined for just about the funnest thing you could do in public. We were so freakin lucky.

I love the Dead; absolutely love them but I am with you. I don't understand why people devote such a large part of their life to a band...........boggles the mind. I think that a trip to Hawaii is more appropriate to spend your money on than following a band around dumpy middle america towns. But hey, to each their own.

It really helps if you grew up with the Dead to get it. They were a leading spirit of the late 60's and early 70's.

Just listening to them on your iPod isn't the same. The Dead should always be played on vinyl, for starters. One had to go to the Dead shows and be part of the scene for it to all come together.
