@HALOMASTER801 when you use local anesthetic, which we do, the tissue is numb and the patient cannot feel incisions. When we do surgery we premedicate patients on NSAIDS and keep them on for 24hrs with addition of narcotic analgesics as needed. Most patients don't need much pain medication with this protocol.

i have a question: there are a lot of people who would prefer to stay "asleep" during the operation. do you also make use of general anaesthetic if the patient wishes so?

@pR05t0 we do IV conscious sedation. You are relaxed but breathing on your own and can respond to commands.  Or for lighter sedation we use oral medications.

@rockstarnikki17 we premedicate patients on naproxen sodium 550mg, one hour before treatment and have them take one every 6-8 hours for 24 hours. We give them Vicodin to take as needed in between. Most of the time they may take one Vicodin. Hardly anyone takes meds more than a day. So our patients experience very little discomfort.

Oral surgery placed it and the movement was not progressing well. See work by Kokich regarding uncovering approach that allows for autonomous eruption.

I had it done on the 30th of November 2007.

It feels weird at first and all I wanted to do was brush my teeth! When I woke up it was throbbing but the worst part was not being able to eat.

Also the fact that your mouth will feel HORRIBLE when you wake up, full of gunk and tasting weird.

But after about a week it should be fine, although I had some trouble speaking at first.

I also had this done. It doesn't hurt at all. It's just fear for you right now. My tooth was located in the roof of my palette. I now have the chain. It took a week for my stitches to dissolve and overall the pain is based on the quality of your doctor. hope i helped!
