  • Funny without filth, unlike the dominant paradigm today.

  • I think about 100 of these views are mine! :)

  • Everyday with you is Thanksgiving by golly thats what she gets for marrying a turkey! (lol)

  • Foster Brooks was a comic genius.

I miss him, but I treasure moments like these.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • I'm a drunk, and I love Foster Brooks. I just dropped his name in the Fark.com Politics discussion, then had to come here to remember how good he was.

  • Outstanding! They don't have talent like this anymore

  • You wonder why programming like this isn't on re-runs but sold on DVDs ... because it's too good (and un-PC) for today's standards and "sensibilities". The others you see not smiling probably follow Foster and are dead frightened how to "follow up" behind this performance.

I never saw anyone make Don Rickles laugh that hard - have you!?

  • This when tv was funny. Now its nothing but bullshit.

  • Foster Brooks is priceless - absolutely hilarious. The 68 dislikes must be alcoholics!

  • No one has ever done a send up of a drunk better than Foster Brooks. God he is priceless!

  • boy this guy makes me laugh every time i watch this video and iv watched it around 17 times

  • Absolutely great performance when comedy was hilarious but clean. These are the greats and all others came after them. I once heard that Foster Brooks never really drank at all! Amazing!!

  • @goesfastandfar he used to drink, but someone bet him $10 if he never drank again. and he stopped drinking.

  • I've been laughing at these roasts for hours now, but this guy has me in tears. That character is priceless.

  • comedians now cant b funny even if their lives depended on it cos they r talentless hacks

  • I was 16 years old when my parents took me to see Foster at the Holiday House near Pittsburgh. I have pictures of us at the dinner table then a picture of us with Foster after the show. The man was genius when it came to acting out the part of a drunk. The show was so funny people were on the floor. He didnt care who he made fun of and he used the "F" bomb more than anyone could imagine. But to be honest it was very clean humor something we would never get to see again.

  • What makes Don Rickles so great is that he can take it as well as dish it out. Man this Foster Brooks has everyone in tears on stage, lol! Funny stuff!

  • Why do vacuous idiots parrot lines in the comments from videos which we all just heard?

  • EACH TOO THERE OWN , BUT HOW CAN ANYONE DISLIKE FOSTER BROOKS , OR ANY OF THE CELEBRITY ROASTS , THEY WERE ALL VERY GOOD FRIENDS AND AFTER ALL ENTERTAINERS , WHATS THE SYING ..... YOU CANT PLEASE ALL THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME , TO THE 65 DISLIKES ,,,,,,,,,, GET A LIFE AND CHILL FOR FUCKS SAKE ................

  • Don, I must really complement you on your wife, Mrs. Pickles, she really is a dilly . . .

  • dont get it

  • Comedy dont come any better than this.

What a great shame that these legends are no longer with us.

  • 65 People Forgot To Laugh!

  • I wish they still made people like these.

    Hilarious.

  • A real classic.

  • 65 dislikes? They must have all been Jack Klugman, who doesn't seem overly amused with Fosters act.

  • Master comedy !!!!!

  • It just doesn't get any better than this.

I bet I've played this I don't know how many times, and it's just as funny as was the first.

  • I cant stop playing 5:03 over and over... I almost bust my gut laughing. Oh man, these guys were all pure Comedy genius.. such good times. Where did they go ?. Nothing today even comes close..

  • This was classic stuff i laughed my ass off! I loved the line incidently your outta scotch (lmao)

  • the best comedians ever

  • big humor that never gets old

  • @magbast9 timeless

  • i would call myself lucky have i ever met foster or don or dean even.:-))

  • Love it !!!!!

  • It's a wonder they didn't all have heart attacks i have watched this lots of times and i fall about laughing every time Foster was a genious

  • He did drunk so well, especially with the fact that he was a teetotaler; he never touched alcohol.

  • @5jerry1

He did have problems with alcohol, but was able to stop.

  • When I watched these shows in the 70s, my whole family and I laughed our heads off when Foster Brooks came on. Hilarious.

  • Absolutely hilarious! Brooks had just one schtick: the drunk. But he played it so brilliantly he didn't NEED to do anything else. Every time I watch this I'm in stiches! What a genius!

  • Could be the all time funniest skit ever.

  • This is true comedy, not that crap we get most of the time today (and im specifically thinking of you Dane Cook!!)

  • Love It!!!!!!!:-))))))

    Ty, Daddy!!!!!

  • Foster Brooks had you on the floor before he even started. He was brilliant.

  • cant make people laugh these days without swearing this is real comedy

  • This is classic!

  • I just discovered this guy 2 days ago and he's one of my favorites now. It's too easy to make "fuck" the punchline. These guys aren't mean spirited either.

  • Great days......lol......is it just me.....it seems today there can't seem to find this simple magic......

  • Comedy does not get any better than this 

  • I'm screwing your wife. You have a very lovely home, and BTW you're out of Scotch. hahgahahahahahahahaha gag whock choke ahahahahahahahahaha

  • 62 people are drunk

  • aside from his (Foster Brook's) roast of Sammy Davis, Jr this is the funniest one by far!

  • I remember watching these when I was a kid with my Grandma, she loved Foster Brooks.. we used to cry laughing watching the Dean Martin Roasts. You can be funny without being dirty and or crass. We had no money in the late 70's, but we had some darn good shows on TV

  • @pauliewalnuts1156 ...I hear you! I was born in "75", and could have only WISHED...to have been around and lived to see the "Great Classics" hence Dean Martin, the Rat pack...At least there are re-runs...Thank God! Shows such as "All in the family", "Welcome back kotter" The Carol burnette show" to name a few..Are still funny as hell! Ps, you wouldn't happen..to be a Sopranos Fan by chance? Ha,Ha! My Favotite Show, Brillient. Great taste Paulie :-)

  • Class act.

  • WAY better than the roast on TV today. It shows you don't have to be dirty to be funny.

  • i love how he has dean swatting at him before he even says anything. and they just cant keep it together. lol. this is great stuff of a bygone era. priceless!!!

  • how in gods name does he do this with a straight face? hahahahaha1

  • These Roasts are soo much better than modern day roasts which are all about sex and nastiness.

  • I agree with fourt9rkim. Foster Brooks was hilarious. All these old Dean Martin Roasts were the best! Classic!

  • Back when roasts had class. Now they're incredibly vulgar and rarely funny.

  • 62 people must have been as drunk as a skunk, if they thought this video was not funny. This video brightens up the darkest days.

    Thanks for sharing

  • Very funny man, I like him a lot and it's all in fun...

  • This rocks

  • Rickles dishes it out, but he can take it too, which makes it ok.

  • Amazing comedy at its finest.......what were 60 people thinking ???

It doens't get much better than this

  • This is a men a true comedian . NO vulgar words bat men can he make you laugh .And if you want to see peace of crap visit Donald trump roast and "the situation" guy was a disaster. IF what he was saying sound any funny . Than horror movies are comedy . Chek it out yourself. Any way love dean martin roast show .such a joy.

  • 60 people must have been asleep while watching this! One of the funniest Foster Brooks skits! good stuff!

  • Ohh look at vintage Lorne Greene when he was the real star. Nice!

  • when tv was really fun to watch and so many great shows was on back in the 70's way to many to write down remember watching all the great shows with my dad when tv was also claen did not have to tell dirty jokes to get people to laugh this was the fun days of tv other great shows was also on like hawaii five-o so many others

  • Those who thumb down a video like this one are probably ones who don't appreciate classic comedy.

Comedy back then was hot and had new ideas. Racial comedy was particularly strong, and people weren't afraid to throw around jokes on minorities on television.

Today people are too politically correct to allow anything like this on the air. What we have in it's place is a bunch of 20-40 year old talentless punks who can't act on the stage. 'Reality' television makes me want to cancel subscription.

  • foster brooks would have been better off to pretend that he was on crack. oh wait! HE WAS!!!!!

  • @deuk22 Perhaps if you were not abusing so many drugs, yourself, you could form coherent sentences.

  • @iago68 you're a bad man! stop using those dirty words!

  • @iago68 Is that why 35 members on you tube have given me the thumbs up and made my comments the top rated comment.I hate to be in your shoes when your abusive remarks are noted by fosters fans and family and if you are discovered all I can say is god help you.

  • @deuk22 at least you removed your abusive comments towards me. good for you! you are beginning to see the light.

  • @iago68 I suggest you remove your remark about foster being on crack or you will be made to see the LIGHT.

  • @deuk22 are you threatening me? that isn't nice, you know. but thanks again for removing all your profane statements. they really weren't appropriate. remember, no man who earns a living making a joke of alcoholism, like brooks did, deserves your respect.

  • @iago68 Lighten up moron!

  • I remember watching this, and many other roast's when I was a kid. I remeber my family all laughing, especially my mom. I can still see her eyes teared up, holding her mouth. My dad, also laughing his ass off. I loved those moments when I was young.

  • we have an indirect relationship... i'm fooling around with your wife. now that is classic comedy! LMAO

  • Good 'ol fashion CLEAN comedy! Miss those days!

  • @Habsfan0206 They didn't show it on TV but those guys were dirtier than a bar full of sailors on ladies night

  • @phoskins, ha! ha! ha! At least they weren't dirty on tv.

  • @Habsfan0206 fair point, but come on wouldn't you love to see the stuff they did that was "for the crowd only". Dean Martin alone must have been hilarious, just look at how drunk he is for all of these

  • @phoskins A lot is act. Dean knew how to work an image. No way he could "keep it together" for a career if he coasted drunk. Sinatra on his roast, disclaimed a lot of Dean's drinking.

  • @Habsfan0206 fair point, but come on wouldn't you love to see the stuff they did that was "for the crowd only". Dean Martin alone must have been hilarious uncensored

  • Probably the funniest act ever. Don Rickles couldn't laugh any harder at end. Mrs. RIIIICKLE RIIIICKLE RICKLES.

  • foster briiks was funny as hell

  • Hope you don't consider this spam, sorry if you do (if you do then just delete) but in doing some early spring cleaning we found an entire box of unopened "Foster Brooks: Live from Las Vegas" LP's still in the shrink wrap. We are not going to sell all of them but we are going to sell probably between 5-15 of them. They have been sitting in a downstairs closet for the last 15-20 years, so I have no idea what kind of condition the record itself is in since....like I said they are unopened.

  • I don't remember how but I saw a few of these at the time. It must be a man thing but the visciousness of some of the people got to me. But most of all it was that there seemed to be so much forced laughing. Dean Martin always laughed at anything. You would see some of them not impressed with the speaker yet the one next to them would be laughing their heads off. Don was one of my favorite until he was allowed to be viscious and then I just couldn't like him anymore. Silly to say it hurt.

  • Who is the man sitting behind jack klugman?.

  • @TheTmny876able That is Joey Bishop

  • @TheTmny876able That is Joey Bishop

  • Humor hasn't changed "too" much over the years.

  • No matter how many times i see this, it always leaves me in stitches. Comedy at its best.

  • Ohmigoodnessssssss...I've seen this a bunch of times before, and it's STILL funny as hell!!

  • I love this segment of the roast. Forster Brooks was a genius and Don will always be don. Both have brought treasures of laughter into our lives.

  • 57 people have no live...or humor.

  • Foster Brooks KILLS !! even Don Rickles bows his head at the begining like saying "Oh Crap here it comes" and come it DID. Don certainly took it like a great sport. Today's roasts don't have the sheer CLASS these do. Today vulgar words, gestures, the F and N words don't compare.

  • They didn't need to make "shocking" comments like today's roasters because they had real talent.

  • He did every show stone sober.. and never touched a drop.. the "drunk act" was that... just an act.. he used to work in homeless shelters and would watch the old winos and drunken bums talk and mimicked their mannerisms, speech and behavior .. He was in a class all by himself and one of the funniest people I have ever seen. My family and I would watch this show when I was a kid and I couldnt wait for Foster to do his bit... RIP Mr. Brooks.. you are missed..

  • Don Rickles to one for the 'Joke'

  • Classic! Foster Brooks master of 'Mr. Buzz'

  • Incredible. 57 people with no sense of humor.

  • @71superbee3 nooooooo...... they have sense o'humor, alright. they don't speak english

    (or dead)

  • Now THAT'S comedy!

  • No swearing, just drinkin' and smokin' and havin' a real good time.

  • So much fun to see these great guys having so much fun...Just watch Dean....Clearly he had not seen the act before and is driven to tears laughing so hard...........

  • God...don't you just love Rickles' reaction to Foster's destroying Don's last name...and Deano wasn't any better...he was crippled laughing at it too...great stuff...

  • gotta be the funniest roast ever

  • Comment removed

  • Foster Classic! Of all the turns at the podium and all those that have, by anyone, this one was the best... everyone is in tears ... I have seen it many times and I still crack up ... What a man!

  • 57 people are out of Velveeta.

  • A major element that makes this comedy sketch a classic is that, in addition to its cleverness, it does NOT rely upon malice, making tasteless fun of someone and tearing him down.

  • @sfkcbf true, and all the sex jokes are way more subtle than the so-called "innuendo" on roasts these days

  • He just looks at Dean and Don in the beginning and the lose it. XD

  • all the world loves a drunk....

  • If they were to ever do a movie about Foster Brooks I think Will Ferrell could play him perfectly.

  • I can watch these all day long and never grow tired of them. I wish I had gotten a chance to meet Mr. Brooks. Comedy was so pure back then, not like the foul-mouthed crotch-grabbing miscreants we have today. Foster Brooks was a legend and there'll never be another like him

  • I Love how he turns it right off after he's done, and walks back to his seat so eloquently just to prove that it's all an act. That's class!

  • Classic. Don Rickles starts busting up before Brooks ever says a word lol

  • i kept replaying @ 5:01

  • i wonder if he bought pretzels, velveta, and scotch for the house after this?

  • I don't see how anyone could give this a thumbs down! Those people must be extremely uptight and they have NO sense of humor! Foster Brooks was THE BEST!!!

  • This is brilliant writing. He was funny on so many levels.

  • It would do a lot of good for all of us if today's comedians were made to watch FB and his generation, not just for the material - other things like timing, working the audience, and no profanity.

Fantastic and thanks for this and the other uploads

  • @timsan55 I agree. Many comedians could learn a lot from them. And with out profanity. That's the key. People CAN be funny without all that cursing and foul language. Sadly, an era long gone and never to return.

  • Dang, that is laugh out loud, tears in eye funny!

  • Foster Brooks was one of the funniest comedians ever. This was when people could laugh at each other and laugh at racism. All of lifes social ills were brought to light. And it was all done in fun. Today he would have never made it as a comedian. And that's so sad. I am so very fortunate to have friends from all walks of life. All colors and religions. People should be able to laugh at each other without it being taken seriously. These" Roasts" are some of the funniest comedy ever.

  • @monopolyblack2007 You know, I think it is the same reason a person couldn't make the movie "Blazing Saddles" now - we just can't laugh at some things anymore (in a healthy way, I mean). How did we come to this state? "...laugh at each other without it being taken seriously." - BLESS YOU!

  • Foster Brooks was amazing!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Imagine the laughs these guys are having together in that big casino in the sky. They just don't make them like these guys anymore and it's a damn shame.

  • " you see i fooling around with your wife" man funny as hell.

  • Somehow, I've always thought that the brilliant participants in this truly great classical comedy series were at their very best when doing their stuff in these Roasts. Funny, joyous and witty - Deano and Co you have no equal. Thank you for making me laugh whenever I return to enjoy you all...!!!

  • @thehbss I agree! (but that is Dino...not Deano)

  • Comment removed

  • Loved them Dean Martin Roasts and his hilarious guests. Those were the days.

  • l never tire of watching Foster Brooks. He was just incredible.

  • Comment removed

  • God, Foster is SO guu-good at that!

  • this was when comedy was actually funny!!!

  • i thougt this guy was my favorite when i was a kid and now i know why.man what classic t v.i got laughin tears in my eyes

  • One of my favorite comics....I miss him

  • Not a dry seat in the house hahaha

  • gonna pee in my pants! hahahaha! how does he keep a straight face?

  • Mrs Rick..Rick.....Rickles.... Too funny. Dean looks like he may pass out from laughing.

  • I say that cuz she's a real dilly haha classic

  • I been drinking all day took me a goddamn hour to to remeber his goddamn name it brookes fuster foster goddamn bru.... BROOKS!

  • I must have watched the roasts multiple times and each time I watch Foster Brooks I laugh at the same lines over n over again. A pity all the greatest comics n actors n singers are all gone. Comedy, good singing, good acting, all ended at the end of the seventies.

  • Class, real comedy !

  • this guy was the only person that could out fake drunk Dean Martin.

  • Classic, Foster Brooks was the man

  • Foster Brooks.Amazing Man unique talent one of a kind.Pure comedy at its best.Better than anything I have ever seen and most probably better than anything I will ever see.

    May He Rest In Peace.

  • comedy at its very very very best. Makes you laugh even on the saddest of days

    Thanks for sharing.

  • I remember watching these roasts with my father, never understood what was so funny. after watching the roasts today, i get. they certainly don't do humor like this anymore
