The Best. I tried it about a year or so ago and have been hooked on this recipe ever since. It's a favourite for any parties or potlucks. Thank you very much for sharing! the artichokes definitely add an extra something something to the recipe. I left it out one time and everyone noticed something different lol
I noticed you added the mayo (sealant) last... one of very few people on youtube who understand how crucial this is...once you add the mayo you can not alter the recipe properly because any extra ingredients will not penetrate the potato, it acts as a barrier... thanks for posting..bravo !
tried it last night, unbelievable!! you are the man. you should audition for the food network, i think you would have a good shot! i would watch you for sure.
off the hook!!! this may be the best tasting potato salad i have ever had, i think my mom's is second now. you should audition for one of those contests on food network. i really think you would have a decent shot at winning.
You should have your own television show, you are such a great host! I love how you explain everything you are doing,it is easy to keep up with you. Your recipe collection here on you tube is awesome,Thank You for sharing them all with us, everything looks delicious and I am always looking for new recipes.
This would be great with fried chicken! I'm having it with a rib-eye (better than a filet mignon if you ask me!) tonight. The BEST tip I ever got anywhere, was in your southern fried chicken video, about using the side burner on the grill. The 1 thing about fried food (other than the health stuff) is the lingering smell. I had never used that burner 'till I watched your video, now I'll never fry inside again! Can anyone say FISH FRY!!
excellent , your one of the few people that seem to know that you never add the mayo untill all ingredients are in and seasoned to taste.because the mayo seals it. my mother taught me that when I was very young and learning to cook.
ive been a chef 15 yrs l truly enjoy the way you explain things to the novice cook. my wife cannot boil water so i tell to watch your videos and shes improving.its nice to have my wife cook for me for a change.down with frozen mass produced box food.ty scott keep up the good work
love your videos, you should be on Food Network. You're so great at teaching people how to cook your recipes. and I love your how neat your kitchen is!
Scoot re my question below I did not ask clearly but since you add vinigar to the sald to give it zing...my question was do you recommend the marinated articokes which are quite vinigary or the plain?
Gotcha... I just use the plain artichokes and add my own seasoning. You could use the marinated variety and give it a try... however, I would alter the amount of vinegar used in my recipe. Best of luck!!
Be sure you all chill this the minimum 4 hours that he stated. I did not have quite that long & found the recipe to be lacking at time of service. I was ecstatic to discover the next day after the flavors had time to blend & the texture had time to set, that this is absolutely delicious. I love that it has no eggs or pickles.
I am making this tonight for a labor day get together. I do not have the artichoke hearts so I am going to substitute the traditional 3 eggs. I will let you know how folks like it . mm
What kind of mayo do you use? I am in NC and Dukes mayo is popular, I have always used Hellmans and it makes a noticable difference. People who have my potato salad will always detect the difference but cant pinpoint what the ingredient is. Also i use dicd (drained) pimentos in my salad to for a nice added touch. Thanks for your recipes, keep em coming.
5/5 stars, great vid and a really unique recipe w/ the artichoke hearts (never heard of this before)...now I'll check out your other vids (^_^)---I like southern cooking give us more!
I'm so glad you liked the demo. The artichokes I use are not the marinated variety, but just plain artichokes in a can (or frozen). Artichoke bottoms work well too.

Are the articoke hearts in the can marinated or are they simply canned without seasonings?
lstcougarlady 4 years ago
Some are marinated and some are packed in water. You'll have to read on the packaging.
