WOW it is actually against the law to distribute free food to the homeless? This sounds like a law that was designed to make the homeless (out of sight out of mind).

@MrBillyLaw I prefer this not to be in the news. Let their intentions remain pure. Let them help the homeless because they want to help the homeless, not because they want to show the world that they want to help the homeless. May the Al-Mighty grant us the strength to keep practicing Islam in the open or not.
Do you need permission of the council or anything to hold an event like this in city center? i would like to organise an event like this in leicester but im not sure if i need permission of the council? can anyone help...?
Random idea might help ... get someone with a food safety certificate to be 'responsible', have one guy give out free pennies to the homeless people and let them buy food for those pennies.
That is an iron-clad circumvention of the "no free food" laws.
