In fairness, Eamon Sullivan's time of 47.05 in the speedo lazer is a better time. Considering the suit Cielo was wearing increases your time by at least .3 of a second over a 100 meters.

@ps2monster very very different simming, you can't really compare here, the 100m and 50 m is all about power and speed, which of course phelps has, but over a longer distance, this is about explosion, from the jump in to the end, they are going top speed. it would be like you saying a marathon runner could run along with Bolt on the 100 or 200 m running.

Ive seen it and thats true. But that was a terrible race for phelps, and he was in a lazr to celio's jaked. Phelps is only a half a second of celio and celio has a better suit, phelps has been training for mid distance(hes moving down to sprints), and phelps this year was getting off a long break. Phelps can go 49 in 100 fly, i think he can do a lot in a 100 free. He isnt there now but dont disregard the best swimmer in the world. He will be coming for celio on that back 50, just like in 100 fly
