  • You know that rare state of awe where your jaw automatically drops and your eyes grow wide and taught. your at that moment where at any second you could begin to tear. Im astonished, can just blew my mind. Thx record store clek guy

  • If anyone can, Can can!

  • Try soundclouddotcom and then a slash and then timlawson

  • Can you believe this came out in 1971?!?!

  • @MattHatter first album in 69

  • @a4ndr3c yes, their first album did come out in 1969, however, this is not on that album, it's on Tago Mago, which was in fact released in 1971.

  • God, their drummer is awesome...

  • Edward Mcnairn, my cousin! Thank you for introducing me to can in 1990 under the best of influences and habitats!! The stories can not be reproduced or the music reinvented. Peace

  • one of the greatest band in the world!!

  • best band eveeeeeeeeeer

  • ha quite a gratuitous cock shot of damo in this

  • I remember at the time of the MUTE RECORDS reissues of the Can albums around 1990, Kurt Loder plugged those on MTV. For once MTV got a real taste of ALTERNATIVE!

  • i did many a trip to tago mago , can opener too...wild stuff

  • I just picked up a copy of "Tago Mago" the other day. And people think "Dark Side Of The Moon" is a trip?!?! There were parts of the album where I was sure my soul left my body temporarily!

  • Really? do tell!

  • Performance memorabile questa è musica rock seria. Bravi davvero.

  • On MTV2? Really?!

  • really but it was some 7.8 of years for it. Then MTV 2 felt like watching

  • Grosse Klasse !!!

    Kann mich gut erinnern....

    unsere grosse Drogenzeit im Internat.

    Geil, das hier zu finden.

    Danke schoen

  • Sound of what was before creation...

  • Wow! I had a buddy/neighbor who was into CAN back in the 70's. Never checked them out before.

  • amazing..

  • sweet

  • Ahh Can... If there was no Can there wouldnt be Radiohead, Sonic youth, Tool & many more existing bands that make difference in pile of wothless junk.

  • rofl! nice

  • @reckonerSr Tool?

  • @reckonerSr don't agree w/ "there would be no" .I understand what your saying, but think about it

  • @krautrockjock i agree. theyd just sound different

  • came across this by accidenet, never heard it before - it's fucking brilliant!!! those drums!!!

  • I love this, ahead of their time in 1971, so underrated this band, Stone Roses owe a huge debt as do many others.

  • sweet

  • mhhh, "his"

  • It's a shame, but in Germany almost no one knows this. It' like the "prophet in its own land". This is by faaaar the best german band ever!!!!

    Can rocks!

  • I'm German and I know (and love) Can since TAGO MAGO. But we all have to accept that bands like Can never will attract a greater audience. Have e.g. PeterHammill/VdGG or Caravan the deserved popularity at home in the UK ?

  • YOu can't forget Neu! One of my favs!!

  • I´m german, living in germany. I do know can and all my friends know can too. some years ago i had the chance to jam with damo and usual insanity in Neuss. thx damo. that was a great experience!

  • @ineedofaname hell, the is the best band ever in the whole wide world

  • great stuff. ... great stuff. der richtige kaffee am morgen vertreibt kummer und sorgen - und macht wach! ...

  • CAN!!! still just awesome.

  • fuck... this is so hypnotic

  • CHECK OUT WES MILES VIRUS !!!

  • so this is where goth and new wave started

  • Sex Gang Children started goth.

  • 5 stars! thanks for the upload.

  • I don't know all Can's stuff, but am totally transfixed by Liebezeit's drumming - especially on this song. But he is killer all over the album _Tago Mago_. Drums for robot sacrificial rituals.

  • ditto that! i love jaki liebezeit. his jah wobble stuff is righteous, too.

  • In reply to lesonyrra, yeh his drumming is awesome! I saw them play live many times in the early 70's and it was such a buzz watching him play. He has been voted top drummer in Germany in the past. Sadly, Michael Karoli passed away some years ago. I met him backstage at the "Greyhound" venue in Croydon and he was a genuinely nice guy.

  • Liebezeit's drumming is fantastic! if you like this, listen to Halleluwah.. I can't get enough of that amazing 18 minute track. Listen, and you will want to take up drumming yourself (if you don't already drum).

  • Hell yeah Great track!!!!!!!! what about Bell air?!?

  • I'm amazed the staff at MTV2 even had this video.

  • Hell yes! Damo Suzuki on MTV!

  • Wow!

  • Dude... what's up with that manatee? That's so awesome.

  • Damn... Can kicks so much ass.

  • They played Can on MTV-2????? WTF.... That's a rarity to get prog bands played on an MTV channel! Thanks for posting.

  • It was part of the 'Artists Choose' programme, this is from mid-2001 I think. The band was the much-missed Alfie, and one of their other choices was The Flaming Lips' 'Race For The Prize', as memory serves...

  • i first discovered Can when "Oh Yeah" was played on MTV2 a while back.

  • drugs

  • Lots of Damo-era stuff. Does anyone have videos from the Mooney days? Please post!

  • Thank you for posting this. One of this pearls! Strictly amazing!

    THANK YOU!!!!!

  • blue blue bag, news paper.....

    I like it!!

  • This is a good song.

  • Can is the best band EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the great bands ever. They took a style of music and made it their own.

  • Can never played properly scripted music, it ways always a jam to some extent.

  • The best way to do it! Screw scripts and nailing music to a T. It gets boring then!!

  • I LIKE PIE!

  • I'm amazed the staff at MTV2 even had this video.

  • Wow, so F-ing sick! I can't believe Can was on MTV 2. Great vid... Its so ahead of its time.

  • it was on about 10 years ago in Britain. For a while they had a bunch of unusual videos that'd play on a loop. Then people like Zane Lowe turned up and all the videos disappeared!

  • Zane Lowe = mediawhore.

  • Hypnotic sound from Cologne!

  • John Lydon says in his book ROTTEN he lliked CAN.

Some of his early PIL stuff sound similar.

  • When Damo Suzuki went away, John Lydon wanted to replace him. But Can didn´t want him...

  • shat. thank you.

  • I guess Mute or someone came up with this montage, but it fits perfectly the mood of the song. Great stuff!

  • Couldn't slap the smile from my face. Excellent.

  • Mark E Smith.

  • Who was the artist that picked CAN?

  • THIS WAS ON MTV-2!!!! WTF???!!

  • Thanks Lysergicalice!
