  • Smashing video, but jesus does that tank wobble! xD

  • That looks like so much fun! I hope someday I can get on the footplate of one of these pannier 57xx tanks.

  • Which way is this Locomotive driven, by Steam Turbine or single Cylinder?

  • @aaretraenki100 It has two internal cylinders to drive it.

  • What in the world !? that's Hawk from the british railway series! I

know that train from anywhere! :)

  • @legomanfan111 you've lost me?

  • @legomanfan111 Its nothing like Hawk, there both GWR Panniers but Hawk is not a 57XX

  • A BIG thank you to ALL at Tysley who have made this old girl such a star performer - You, collectively, deserve much praise for effort and sheer professionalism.

These locos were common as dirt when I was young, and unfortunately they were as dirty as dirt too! It's so nice to see one preserved with such obvious loving care.

  • @colliecandle Thanks for the comment, echoed by many I would imagine. 9600 is superb and 7752 is now in the works following suit! Roll on the open weekend at the end of June.

  • Interesting how smart it looks in its BR livery. I went behind a pannier on the East Lancs with a pretty big train, and it is amazing how these small locos can perform with trains that must surely be much bigger than the original loads for which they were intended.

  • @JimTLonW6 It does look good and Tyseley always turn out well presented locos - even on tests! They do have some power, think there listed as 25,515 lb of tractive effort. As you say not bad for the loco size. Cheers.

  • nice 0ne

  • @locomotive67 Cheers.

  • How many people are crowded onto the footplate? With so many 'kibbutzers' i'm surprised there is room for the fireman's shovel!

  • @freeman8128 It is a bit crowded! Probably to stop it bouncing to much - lol! Thanks.

  • I've never seen a pannier go so fast !!!!!!! Wow

  • @imautuber444 I think it looks better because its on its own! Thanks for the comment.

  • Amazing. Seeing it going backwards just shows why these tank engines could do so much for main line work. Isle of Grain anyone?

  • @Mikal2475 Its good with the same speed limit backwards and forwards! There are probably many lines they would well on, how about the Looe branch?

  • @MG06ZT Funny that. Just heard there are plans to run on the Looe branch with another pannier 9466.

  • @Mikal2475 Strange! A good idea travels fast! I wonder if there would be a one way trip with a tractor to get the stock down there...........maybe. I'll check the Vintage Trains website in a few days and check to see if it running! Cheers mate.

  • why dont they ever let steam unleash their full pottential?

  • @trainlover658 It's all safety, safety, safety now! They worry something may go wrong. Thanks for the comment.

  • @MG06ZT they also fear that steam is better than modern traction now a days

  • @MG06ZT yeesh.... certainly alot faster than anything else on that line i can tell you that...

  • @trainlover658 Faster and a lot more interesting! Cheers.

  • Lovely little engine!! Much more powerful than its size implies. Motoring along on test... sorta looks like 70mph+ + but I'm sure it was within its prescribed limits!!!!!!!!!! If not, send it over here as our trains could do with some speeding up!

    TU :-)

  • @HughFromAlice I'm sure it was doing less than 45mph, which I believe is it's prescribed limit! Thanks for the comment.

  • This is great time! Because we usually cannot see the steam locomotive train running alone! 5star for you!

  • Thanks for the comment. It's unusual for us to see a steam loco on it's own!

  • great video mate i am going out for this tommrow great video mate 5stars and fav

  • i'll look out for the vid, cheers.

  • great vid

  • Thanks.

  • Hmm. Not bad. You need a tripod and then edit out those crash zooms. Maybe try getting away from station platforms, especially for the bunker-first shot? A side-on view across the fields, perhaps from the bridle path south of Danzy station, might have been a good contrast. I know that line's hard to film mid-day, because the train comes at you out of the sun, but I don't think you made the best of a lovely day.

  • Yes, I agree about the tripod. That bunker first shot is a cracker though, the way the loco rock and rolls. From futher away you would have missed it.

It's the first time i've been to Danzey and I wasn't aware of the suns position, until to late! Again it comes down to knowing the area a bit better.

  • An excellent video of this test run..thanks for uploading...5* Bob

  • cheers.

  • Thats not a Pannier Tank, its a TYSELEY pannier tank!!!

It just so happened that I lost my camera tonight, so no footage from me I'm afraid. Its a shame as it really powered through Henley in the dark. :-)

  • Quite correct, it must be a 0-6-0TPT(Tyseley Pannier Tank)!! Shame about your camera, I wasn't able to get out in the evening - lets hope someones caught it.

  • nice one ther well done she was off ofr it at speed ther 100% A++++++ 5*

  • nice shots m8 5*s i did want to get this engine but didnt have the time ,, thanks for uploading sean

  • Great Video, 5 Stars! Nice to see her back on the main line!

  • cheers.

  • it sure is motoring!

  • brilliant 5***** & fav. Pannier on the mainline!! didn't half shift. Great to see smaller steam locos on the mainline for a change.

  • Great isn't it. How rare.

  • nice one mate, one for the archives :-)

    5*

  • Thanks, it's a great little engine. The railtour should be cool!!

  • i've just looked and found out the railtour is fully booked. Absolutley gutted. Will be a great trip. Oh well may go down to wolverhampton to see it.

  • It's been fully booked for a while, I wanted to go but shortage of cash! Filming it will have to do.

  • Heh heh, great work, surprising how fast the little fella can move !

  • Cheers mate, wasn't she flying!! Worth going out.

  • a very unusual movement! and without a support coach!

  • It's a shortish journey from Tyseley to Stratford-upon-Avon, the line only has an hourly service and so good to test the locos.

  • great catch, it wasnt hangin about. id seen this down for a rail tour but wasnt sure what it was like so thanks for that

  • Thanks Lou. The SLS railtour is with the two tank engines 9600 + 9466, unusual traction!

  • nice short video mate

i'll be out to film the railtour on the 14 nov

  • The railtour should be good, I think we'll all be out. Thanks mate.

  • Nice one, I nearly went to Earlswood myself, wish I did after seeing that.

  • Thanks, we both got good shots. I think it comes down to luck!
