Well, the Israelis are somehow programmed to think that everyone is out to kill them, wipe them out... blah blah blah. It could have easily been done if intended.

@lieberat yeah, they were safer in Muslim nations, but only until the beginning of the 1900s or so. Many Arabs have spoken like they want to push Israel into the ocean, that they hate Jews, spread anti-semitic propaganda in the media etc.. Vile stuff. Us in Europe gave these conspiracies to Muslims who embraced them fully. 90 years at least of attacks against Jews in what is now Israel... If Palestinians could stop with the terror for 1 year or 5 or 10, maybe some progress could happen.

Good points on the IDF being inflexible, but Israel is a small, narrow country. It is an extreme understatement to say they are outnumbered ten to one by people in neighboring countries who want a second holocaust occur.

They gave the Sinai back because they were given reason to trust Egypt, and Egypt has shown it is Honorable. They might give the Golan Heights back if Syria would stop plotting to destroy them, harboring terrorists, and funding the extremists.

Israel did not "give" Sinai back to the Egyptians. The Egyptians needed to start a war to get it back.
