Ventura is my Home Town, I was Born, Raised, and then for some insain reasone moved away. But I wittnessed from birth (1962) till i was 30 yrs old, How Ventura hasdeveloped,and I tell you, You Kooks that just moved in,You dont even know how cool it was.To see My Home town all Fooked up like it has become!I can honestly say,I know now what the American Indian must have felt like, I rage to see a fooking toll both at poiint,thats like stretching barb wire.Any Way,thats my two cents LOCALsOnly
Due to climatic changes within the last 20 years or so and really within the last 10, swell patterns and angles have changed drastically here in California most notably in So. Cal. Winter surf considered by many as the best season has dwindled down to almost non existant due to changes in the jet stream. Storm patterns that would nomally "drop down" from the north are tracking high and due east. Therefore the days of really good surf in California are all but dead.
How is the zoom on the w80? Im lookin for a cheap yet decent camera to do some filiming from the water with. Ive read that the images are poor quality but from the video, it looks up to my humble standards. Does it have decent zoom and auto focus? Ever try shooting from the water?

Good part of California: Malibu to Jalama. And then Santa Cruz to San Francisco. Take a couple of years off and go surf it all. You won't regret it.
