So anyone that has this netbook... does this thing have any trouble recognizing any sort of peripherals or cameras or anything when plugged in? My personal interest would be to put media on it from digital camera and/or cell phone. The OS "looks" like Mac OS X which is a good thing for me. Anyone have thoughts on the OS? How is it?

I had ordered one, it has the VIA chip set 1 ghz processor 7 inch screen and 1 gig of ram. comes with gOS escape pod 2.9 I tried to install other versions of linux but none recognize graphics card, under gOS it still blows for web browsing, for 299.99 just go with acer aspire one 8.9 inch screen or hp mini 1000 seriously dont bother with this sytem.

but no disk drive

Sweet! I'm trying to save my money to buy one of those, so that I can install Windows XP, or just leave gOs on the nice, cheap g netbook. It cost $299.00 at Wal-Mart's Website, $379.99 at MicroCenter, and has better specs thanthe Asus Eee PC 2G or 4G. 30GB HDD, 1GB Memory, 1.2GHz Speed, VIA graphics and processor, 2USB, RJ-45, IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless, DVI output, and does it have a webcam also? If so, sweet!

I finally bought this netbook weeks ago and been drive testing it since then. Disappointed w/ gOS. It's too slow and won't play the streaming web media well and barely hearable audio. After installing WinXP and drivers, everything is OK. It can even run LiveCD or DVD of any Linux disto via USB. The text support is fairly good through email. What I like is that it detects wirelless network so fast. So light that I can even take it with the power charger and my slim ext drive.

has anyone tried installing WindowsXP on this guy? I really want to get this probably for working on text files (websites/programming stuff), and minimal non-print graphic stuff, reading pdf's while I'm commuting, so I don't NEED XP, but it be A TAD better if I could get XP running on it. looks better then the eeePC

they change there name because its a loser machine the screen size is so small for web browsing..

I prefer "MSI Wind" or "EEE PC 901"

It is a sweet little machine I've had mine now for a week. It's done all I expect of it and more. Yep it works with external DVD burner.

No it can't play DVD:s, because it is illegal on Unix/Linux systems.

Had this iMac 2 weeks and used 35gb, And Im a web developer.. You could just buy a small external or USB if you needed a little more.

This has just come out and was been developed for ages probably. Newer models in the future will have Atom I think. And I don't think Intel atom has been released quite yet

At least this one has a 30GB HD. Every other small laptop that is energy efficient has a 4-6GB HD.
