Brazil can use immigrants to its benefit, or it can deny to do that, instead shutting itself off. You see the immigrants as a liability, but you could also see them as an asset. @kurtilein3 Not everything can be spent on them, others also have needs. Though few have come, they've come to areas too small and poor to shelter, feed and employ them all. Brasileia's declared a crisis b/c budget isn't enough to deal with the population growth caused by immigration. I know the poor, also from my country, often go elsewhere to look for a better life, so I don't look down on Haitians. But we don't have what it takes to deal with an even larger amount of needy people.

But y'know, we have areas much larger and richer than the Amazonian villages Haitians (and not only them) are going to, but where there are still many leading poor lives, without access to good education or healthcare or decent homes. @kurtilein3 The thing is, Brasil is growing economicly, and not socialy...our public education (with the exception of universities) is horrible, with very little exceptions here and there...and diferent from Germany, our development isn`t homogenous, Amazonia especialy is very poorly developt, with the exception of Manaus (if it wasn`t like this, people would be crying out for the rainforest,it`s hard to have development without degradation), so the only choice is for them to come to a big city
