I've seen Robert Hunter live- quite a number of years ago and I really dug his solo takes on Dead songs(and his own songs-Promontory Rider I love). The CD Stellabloo mentions is definitely worth picking up.

But here, it's really impossible not to think of Pigpen's performance of Easy Wind.

Impossible not to hear Pigpen singing each line in the mind's ear a second or so after Hunter sings, and not miss how Pigpen wraps his gritty voice around those words.

I have the Robert Hunter acoustic Box of Rain CD - he is the original one-man show .... kinda like Dead Young lol
