(one top, other mid) The last game I played I risked it, I was Irelia top and killed their top twice. but our bot lane fed HARD. like theyd only be in lane for 2 minutes before the enemy got a double kill. luckily, our ahri won her lane against annie. then me and ahri carried our entire cruddy team.
Reason this means nothing is annie carried, and the other team focused the tanks rather then the carries. This just means he was lucky enough to have a non retarded team and he played against bad players.

Its funny I watch this video so often because what he says is so true at times lol. What isnt true is that in an actual elo hell your not just gonna have a 0-2 in all lanes your gonna have 0-5. Your team is not going to be able to do anything in teamfights and they wont. 2 people will leave or start to give up. What the hell? You don't believe in Elo Hell? 1300 ISN'T ELO HELL MY FRIEND. I've played 23 SQ games and I've had 7 leavers. The chances of me (apparently being the changing factor if I don't belong in that ELO) is extremely slim if any of filling the roll of 2 champions at the same time. No, Elo hell is NOT impossible to get out of, its the fact that it is DIFFICULT to get out of, very difficult. By ELO hell I mean 700-800 ELO, that is hell where people insta-lock Kalye with Clarity/Heal.
Your winning this one game is not statistically significant. I'm not saying ELO hell exists, but for the message you are trying to convey, you need to play your friend's account out of ELO hell (or at least make significant progress in that direction)--not just win one or two games.

@Amaysn09 Depends entirely on what you have to be doing, if you know you're going to be the only guy in there then full defensive is the way to go, otherwise Presence of the Master is like the best mastery point of all time.

@hasyly69 I simply asked for top lane politely in chat, at champion select. While you won't get it every game, I got it 22 out of 25 games. The other three times I jungled.
As far as the question itself goes, you should get what your team needs.
You should never admit to playing someone else's account. Riot has banned people before for doing it, including Reginald. Next time just say he played the account and you sat next to him giving him tips or something.
Hey Faro, thank you for this video it was a great watch and hopefully will be a great help. I just have a few questions which I hope you will answer, mostly regarding Runes and Irelia. Do you prefer Alacrity Irelia over Desolation Irelia? Why Replenishment Seals instead of Clarity, they even out at level 6? Why Evasion Seals suggestion when her early stage is her weakest stage and with the Evastion Mastery, she only gets around 8.125% dodge chance or so?
@TenshiroNova If I don't have Clarity then that's actually an error int he guide and I will edit it, thank you for pointing that out. I do like Alacrity over Desolation because I believe Irelia's primary strength comes from her W, but armor penetration gives her a pretty significant boost to most of her damage sources.
The dodge question is a little more complex. Basically, the way I see it, dodge is the best defensive stat for late game, but the only way to get it is ninja tabi.
@TenshiroNova Basically, against an AD heavy team, dodge is the one saving grace that melee have. A nimbleness proc at the right time or dodging a shot from a fed Tristana can be a game changer. It does depend entirely on the enemy team/my team/my lane though.
For example, I'd never go dodge runes against Yorick since he'd run on me in lane. I would against Udyr, since you can dodge tiger stance. I wouldn't get dodge vs an AP heavy team, but I would if they had two dps and I was the tank.
@isnay2003 It's probably not you, I've been recording in half size on fraps instead of full size which has been having a negative impact on some of the higher resolution stuff. It should be back to normal by my next vid.

Elo hell isn't leavers and trolls its people who refuse to communicate, and can only play one champion. for example I play, I say, "what do you guys want." no answer. I pick, we end up being ad heavy. I tell the last guy hey can you go ap. he does feeds (along with bot lane, and by feed i mean 0/5). He then says he can only play one character and why did I make him play that. kind of hard to win when your teamates only play one character, and feed if they play any other character.

@DoctaDiesel I would not recommend picking up Warmog's in a duo lane. The item is too expensive to farm quickly, and when you have to share farm with another player you're usually better off going gp/5 items like philo or heart of gold.

Artificial elo inflation when you take your 1300 friends account. If you had 4 of that annie, THATS elo hell. Bitchin and whining and feeding. I played rumble back in his op days to get outta elo hell, and its makes you look like a dick, but you NEED to pick the optimal champ against a team. That team has few dps and is squish dependent. Irelia is a tanky squish assassin. Moral of the story: play lots of champs and counter pick the hell outta the other team.
I stopped 3 minutes into the video. You said Annie was dominating the lane. Real ELO-hell, you'd have a LeBlanc that had already died 2 times. Garen and Miss Fortune would be already calling him a dumb fag because they're duo-queuing and for some reason thought that Miss Fortune's lack of real CC would benefit Garen.
@MasterZealot09 Comments like this really confuse me. There's no such thing as a "real elo hell." People 1300 and below are all there for different reasons. Some of them don't know how to position, some of them don't know how to team fight, some of them don't know how to group, some of them don't know how to lane, and some of them have social disorders. Either way, it costs them the game.
Not to even mention the fact that most people would've surrendered this game as soon as it was 4v5.

When you decide to play a ranked match and you get a jungle shaco that locks in without listening to anyone and then dies to red buff multiple times, never gets a gank, is insanely underleveled, and contributes nothing to team fights. That was my first ranked game, and I will never forget it. Someone that has never played ranked and is 1200 ELO getting matched with legitimate 1200 is completely unjust for how I've seen the average 1200 play

@thisisnotfaro No they are not the only ones. There are people trapped below 1200 that shouldn't be there but ELO hell prevents them from progressing. Your friend was ranked in the 1300s, so a carry is more believable. You should loss 20 games in a row, get to rank 1000- and then carry to 2000.

Do you remember when the LoL database was compromised and Saintvicious' rating got reset to 0? He was back to 2200 by the end of the week. He carried with AP Rammus.
And that's not even talking about Camera's complete blog of him que dodging to 0 on the EU servers and carrying up to 2200.

What happens in elo hell if you are a decent player.
1. You jungle: all lanes fail and cry for ganks.
2. Go mid: You win your lane but bot feeds like hell, top just gives up, jungler doesn't do anything.
3. Top: bot still fails and jungler feeds that shaco 5 kills....
4. Go bot: you win your lane, get first tower+dragon, top loses 2 towers, mid just fails with 8 minion kills in 10 minutes...

Hey Faro, thank you for this video it was a great watch and hopefully will be a great help. I just have a few questions which I hope you will answer, mostly regarding Runes and Irelia. Do you prefer Alacrity Irelia over Desolation Irelia? Why Replenishment Seals instead of Clarity, they even out at level 6? Why Evasion Seals suggestion when her early stage is her weakest stage and with the Evastion Mastery, she only gets around 8.125% dodge chance or so?

@TenshiroNova If I don't have Clarity then that's actually an error int he guide and I will edit it, thank you for pointing that out. I do like Alacrity over Desolation because I believe Irelia's primary strength comes from her W, but armor penetration gives her a pretty significant boost to most of her damage sources.
The dodge question is a little more complex. Basically, the way I see it, dodge is the best defensive stat for late game, but the only way to get it is ninja tabi.

@TenshiroNova Basically, against an AD heavy team, dodge is the one saving grace that melee have. A nimbleness proc at the right time or dodging a shot from a fed Tristana can be a game changer. It does depend entirely on the enemy team/my team/my lane though.
For example, I'd never go dodge runes against Yorick since he'd run on me in lane. I would against Udyr, since you can dodge tiger stance. I wouldn't get dodge vs an AP heavy team, but I would if they had two dps and I was the tank.

@rotate1950 Yeah and its always on your team right never on the other team.If you are really a good player you will go up cause you are not only one who gets shitty teammates it happens all the time. And i love how ppl rage all the time when they play well and lets say go 9-2 with xin and they lose and then they rage on teammates but never do you pay attention when someone else on your team has a good score and loses cause of you or some1 else or som1 wins a game for you then you dont say shit..

Elo hell isn't leavers and trolls its people who refuse to communicate, and can only play one champion. for example I play, I say, "what do you guys want." no answer. I pick, we end up being ad heavy. I tell the last guy hey can you go ap. he does feeds (along with bot lane, and by feed i mean 0/5). He then says he can only play one character and why did I make him play that. kind of hard to win when your teamates only play one character, and feed if they play any other character.

This video was prefect for me cause I just bought Irelia yesterday and have no idea how to build her xD. The build seems pretty good, the only thing I have to ask would this build work just as well in a duo lane? I'm not to the point where solo top with a jungler is very popular hence why Ii'm asking this question. thanks for the background btw i luvz it :D.

@DoctaDiesel I would not recommend picking up Warmog's in a duo lane. The item is too expensive to farm quickly, and when you have to share farm with another player you're usually better off going gp/5 items like philo or heart of gold.

Artificial elo inflation when you take your 1300 friends account. If you had 4 of that annie, THATS elo hell. Bitchin and whining and feeding. I played rumble back in his op days to get outta elo hell, and its makes you look like a dick, but you NEED to pick the optimal champ against a team. That team has few dps and is squish dependent. Irelia is a tanky squish assassin. Moral of the story: play lots of champs and counter pick the hell outta the other team.

I stopped 3 minutes into the video. You said Annie was dominating the lane. Real ELO-hell, you'd have a LeBlanc that had already died 2 times. Garen and Miss Fortune would be already calling him a dumb fag because they're duo-queuing and for some reason thought that Miss Fortune's lack of real CC would benefit Garen.

@MasterZealot09 Comments like this really confuse me. There's no such thing as a "real elo hell." People 1300 and below are all there for different reasons. Some of them don't know how to position, some of them don't know how to team fight, some of them don't know how to group, some of them don't know how to lane, and some of them have social disorders. Either way, it costs them the game.
Not to even mention the fact that most people would've surrendered this game as soon as it was 4v5.

@thisisnotfaro You obviously have never been there. When you decide to play a ranked match and you get a jungle shaco that locks in without listening to anyone and then dies to red buff multiple times, never gets a gank, is insanely underleveled, and contributes nothing to team fights. That was my first ranked game, and I will never forget it. Someone that has never played ranked and is 1200 ELO getting matched with legitimate 1200 is completely unjust for how I've seen the average 1200 play

@MasterZealot09 While 1200 range players definitely deal with an unbelievable amount of variance in player skill (one that can easily be fixed by having elo start at 0), 1200s are not the only people complaining about "Elo Hell."

@thisisnotfaro No they are not the only ones. There are people trapped below 1200 that shouldn't be there but ELO hell prevents them from progressing. Your friend was ranked in the 1300s, so a carry is more believable. You should loss 20 games in a row, get to rank 1000- and then carry to 2000.

@MasterZealot09 If you're below 1200 and you shouldn't be there you will carry out. People who think Elo Hell is real are delusional. There have been multiple cases of people carrying from 0 to 2200. Do you remember when the LoL database was compromised and Saintvicious' rating got reset to 0? He was back to 2200 by the end of the week. He carried with AP Rammus.
And that's not even talking about Camera's complete blog of him que dodging to 0 on the EU servers and carrying up to 2200.
