How many times are you going to keep showing the same fucking races? This collection I've seen 96, 98 and a few others 2 or 3 times. What's wrong with you?
Every single winner of the last 15 Melbourne Cup (ie. since sectional positions have been readily available) has been in the first half of the field at the 400, so it is hard to understand why Mick Dittman stayed so far back and waited so long before starting his run. He only has about three behind him on the turn, while the winner is cruising in second place.
does anyone remember who rode the rose in that race it was a very paitent ride in the straight natski was unlucky with the check but recoverd very fast and got on with it nice battle
I love the other call of this race, Natski's run was huge in this, and to be honest, if I hadn't been such a fan of big Rosie, I would've been gutted for the connections. But, I was a kid, and all I knew was my horse won, that big cantankerous stroppy thing that she was. She had a lot of class.
Natski got a bad check at the 350mt which cost him the race, if only Dittman had of gone another 2 horses wider he would have had a clear run, what might have been....

Natski also ran in slightly at about the 200m, and the jock had to stop riding him momentarily. Cost him another 1/4 length.

@cl0ngrf3 Not sure if Efficient was in the first half of the field by the 400 was he? I know he was the widest at the end of the turn.
