Probably about a third of them didn't care about elections and a third didn't know there was an election. The rest abstained as a protest. That's my theory.

We have a good Chicago machine politician who's successfully claimed credit for continuing the policies of the predecessor to their conclusions. I think he hasn't been doing too badly.

I haven't seen him claiming credit for his stellar work in the Gulf of Mexico, though.
