What does sucking the ink out the bottom do?

Wouldn't leaving the inlets on top of the cartridge uncovered dry out the foam inside?

@superque4 I read that you can wait for about 8 hours and then just print some pages. You don't need to suck it out.

Their are many bulk refill kits and methods available, the demonstration video needles shown in my opinion are too thick, and do damage to the foam inside when inderting the needle into the cartridge , the preferred needle size should be the same size as that used by doctors injecting patients. Also have a roll of soft toilet paper handy to immediately wipe up spills.

Ive gone through 4 canon printers for rersaerch over a four and a half year period just bought today of Ebay my fifth canon MP170. May I make comment for what it's worth, canon printers and cartridges have only a finite life spanonly so many pages cane be printed and usually 3 to 5 refills each cartridge, pulling cartridges in and out of the printer also takes a toll on the chips (CSI) system is better method but expensive. Do not overfill the cartridges as excess ink can distroy the printer

I bought these product for my pixma 1600 & pixma 250, It function properly but the ink level doesn't reset. I tried to use the instruction manual & I even call the technical support from inktec but they can't fix the reset problem, they said that some printer doesn't recognize the newly refill ink....

While holding still the Power ON button, press twice the STOP/RESET button 6. Release the Power ON button 7. Wait until it display an "idle" message. It will take about a minute.

yah, drill a hole in each appropriate hole (they have a circular indentation thing around them), fill up a syringe with ~10mL ink per color and inject in the appropriate space SLOWLY!

Hey i work doing refills and such and u DO NOT need the refill clip to refill, some ink might come from the printhead while filling without the clip but its just a matter of simply wiping away excess ink with tissue.

Uses MP150. I've tried without the clip. Ink is coming from the head and it's only blues which is active!

i've heard that u must reset the ink counter otherwise even when the cartiridge is full , it will display that it is empty thus making in unusable

The cartridge is the same with Pixma IP1880,very easy to refill,although the printer cannot detect the ink levels anymore,anyone knows how to reset it?

It works, and Print OK in Mac & Windows, but The INk levels recognize the cartridges like empty.

yeah dude, i just refilled my cartridges. but it doesnt know that the ink has been refilled therefore the ink gauge is pretty much useless. Eventually after continuous use of the cartridges a window will appear and it will allow to just disable the ink gauge.

I just refill whenever the papers I print look like they are running out of ink. It may be slightly inconvenient but it saves a LOT of money!

i dunno, but you dont have to cover them. i dont know why, but i think that you need the the pressure from keeping the holes exposed for it to print rite. i never covered mine and they print fine.
