@Redjoker96 "Better" is relative. Some people will prefer Persona 3 to Persona 4, and vice-versa.
Technically speaking, 4 has a superior graphics engine and adds many tweaks to Persona 3's battle system, but as far as the storyline goes, as I said, it is relative.
Consider Persona 2, though. That one is considered to be the greatest of the series, but usually, new-fans cannot really enjoy it as they've not grown to understand the series as well as veterans.

In a few words, Persona 2 is much, much more faithful to the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, and it deserves much more of my praise. Not to say that, artistically, these two aren't good. They just aren't MY Shin Megami Tensei anymore. As a veteran, I'm used to much deeper SMT storylines.
Though, I do like it that pretty much any Persona in the subseries had that vibe that you could either take it really seriously, or really, really not serious at all.
Persona 3 tried too hard to be way too serious, and I disliked that. Not because I don't like serious games, but because that department should be saved for the Shin Megami Tensei main series, not Persona! There is only so much that you can take a bunch of highschool kids saving the world "seriously".
@apinafilms I tend to frown upon emulation and ROMs. I only play video-games made by companies that I respect a lot, and for that reason I am usually very glad to give my contribution to them for upcoming projects. But alas, if there isn't a choice, I guess I have to cope.
The discrepancy of the Mother series really remind me of what happened with the Final Fantasy series, what with VI being dubbed III in North-America and such.

@YouriOrange Just get the Shin Megami Tensei soundtracks dude, P4 = mainly jpop, P3 = Jpop and jrap, P1 (PSP version) = Jpop and dark ambient/industrial, Nocturne = grim, gritty industrial, Digital Devil Saga 1 = gloomy, downbeat jazz and rock, Digital Devil Saga 2 = completely out of this world electronica that must be heard to be believed. The series's composer, Shoji Meguro, is a really talented guy.

@goldendringer they don't USA uses SLUS version games so does Europe Japan uses SLES but either way watch the japanese cutscenes and gameplay then the american persona is known for not being changed much from the original japanese versions in ANY country besides that though persona is given the m rating mainly due to Mara (giant penis who tempted buddha) XD and the striptease dungeon

This is the heavily limited USA opening. The EU one is better cos in EU we dont censor stuff in the same way. US censors nudity and sex, EU censors drugs and violence.... where would you wanna live ?

its good they would rather take the rating instead of cutting content, that would be stupid. a dark, emotional, rated m persona game can make anybody cry a little, more than final fantasy. aeris gets killed, every other stuff isn't really tear jerking moments.

Persona 4 DID have an improved battle system and more challenging dungeons. But I liked Persona 3 much more because of the characters and storyline. P3 is my favorite SMT.
Persona, it was for the PS 1, but persona is in a series called Megami Tensei. So the first, First *FIRST* game is "Shin Megami Tensei" and it was on the Superfamicon I think or "SNES"
when i first bought p4 n watched the op, i was like WHY IS EVERYONE WEARING GLASSES!? yosuke, chie, yukiko, kanji, p4 mc, naoto, rise, except teddie of cuz. it looks CRRRRAAAAAAZZZZZY but cool at the same time
P4 may have had the better battle system/dungeons and more up to date characters that are much more easier to relate to (though I did dislike the radically off the wall persona designs for some characters)---but I gotta give it to P3. it by far had the more gripping story line and nailed the creepy feeling for the Persona title.
I liked this one more than P3 because it had a gripping storyline and realistic personalitys. Also the dungeouns wern't as repetitive. Oh and the lead character wasn't a emo. lol
There tends to be a rather large gap between people who rate and make laws about games and the people who actually PLAY the games. This is one reason why it's a good idea to see what those crazy people on the ballets want to support during election days =p
i think they should care.. i mean games like GTA: san andreas should be bashed for their hot coffee (although, it can only be accessed through cheat engine, the fact that it's there means the developer put it there.)
but i think they really are bashing a lot of JRPG and putting them in M, where the mature content is simply implied (i mean kids without a vast knowledge wouldnt understand it would they?)
while the simpsons game, which is more violent got T rating

This is the heavily limited USA opening. The EU one is better cos in EU we dont censor stuff in the same way. US censors nudity and sex, EU censors drugs and violence.... where would you wanna live ?

This is the inferior USA version of the opening animations.
In the EU we got a much (MUCH) better version. same tune but the things they censor in the USA (natural) are the opposite to what we censor more in Europe (Violence)

its good they would rather take the rating instead of cutting content, that would be stupid. a dark, emotional, rated m persona game can make anybody cry a little, more than final fantasy. aeris gets killed, every other stuff isn't really tear jerking moments.

@Stagfire22 Multiple Murders, a bit of cursing (don't think that's bad at all), some uber suggestive personas (one is just...well search Persona Mara and I think you'll get that much) And some drinking and other somewhat adult ideas.
Maybe the UK is just strange and doesn't mind all the stuff? Anyways rating companies and systems are kinda BS

Persona 4 DID have an improved battle system and more challenging dungeons. But I liked Persona 3 much more because of the characters and storyline. P3 is my favorite SMT.

Persona, it was for the PS 1, but persona is in a series called Megami Tensei. So the first, First *FIRST* game is "Shin Megami Tensei" and it was on the Superfamicon I think or "SNES"
You can play it via an emulator.

P4 may have had the better battle system/dungeons and more up to date characters that are much more easier to relate to (though I did dislike the radically off the wall persona designs for some characters)---but I gotta give it to P3. it by far had the more gripping story line and nailed the creepy feeling for the Persona title.
But, p4 was a nice installment after words

i think they should care.. i mean games like GTA: san andreas should be bashed for their hot coffee (although, it can only be accessed through cheat engine, the fact that it's there means the developer put it there.)
but i think they really are bashing a lot of JRPG and putting them in M, where the mature content is simply implied (i mean kids without a vast knowledge wouldnt understand it would they?)
while the simpsons game, which is more violent got T rating
