@ckga1980 Mitsutada Iha Sensei is not from Matayoshi Kobudo. He is from Ryukyu Kobudo Ryukonkai. He's the son of Iha Kotaro Sensei (10th Dan), Founder and Kaicho of Ryukonkai.
I am a Go Dan under his father's RyuKonKai Kobudo. Mitsutada also teaches us. As you can see he's an excellent Bo player. In fact, he's excellent with all his weapons but I believe his Bo is the best. I often say that he's the best Bo player I've ever seen and I've been in Karate & Kobudo 37 years. Thanks for posting the video. I was in Okinawa with a group in March so couldn't make the tournament. Thanks again.
With all the respect, if this is the best bo player you have ever seen you must be happy, because you still can see more things in the kobudo world. Please try to attend seminars from Kenyu Chinen, Matayoshi Kobudo style... you will be surprised.
I would like to. Do you have a video ? Actually this video does not do Mitsutada justice. I've seen him in competition and trained with him. He's very good. Someone better I would surely be interested in seeing.
Yes Jess. He won the first place in adult male bo devision in 2009 Okinawa Traditional Karatedo World Tournament. He won the second place in 2003 Okinawa Karatedo Kobudo World Tournament.
Yes Matayoshi Kobudo

Nice kata, nice traditional tempo and bearing. Tough to beat Okinawa kobudo.

Good to know, thanks!
He won the World Championships also, if I remember correctly.
He did the same kata, so didn't upload those vids though.
