Excellent work: your video captures the look and feel of the Gorge very well and I like your music. The resolution is very good as well - could I ask what type of video file used and how big the file was that you uploaded? Thanks
Thanks mate, appreciate it. Good question on the resolution issue...Youtube converts your file to flv (flash) format. If you first convert your video to flash format yourself, youtube will leave it as is...of course if you make it too decent a quality, it will be slow to download, so there is a tradeoff. If you need a file converter, do a search for 'super c'...its an awesome free piece of software to convert any format of video to any other...amazing. Cheers!
Howdy, the video and music are both done by myself. Click on my youtube name (ktownie) to hit my channel page which has a link to my music / video website. Glad you like it!!
Thanks for the feedback. I have friends out there! The Gorge was really beautiful - would make any water sport really attractive.
Windsurfing may seem safe to the experts but it is not for the faint of heart. What are the top speeds anyway - faster even than a trimaran right? I bet you can get upwards of 30 knots.. so if you are a beginner and sailing towards a beach with possible rocks, other boats, or the wall of your Gorge there, then it must be very intimidating!!
I would say that the more expert you are, the more dangerous it gets...you don't need super strong winds and big waves to have fun with the sport. GPS sensors are all the rage these days...I think I hit 60 km/h last season (33 knots?). The current world speed record for sailing craft is once again in the hands of windsurfers...Finian Maynard did 48.7 knots average on a 500 m course last year. Crazy! (there's a video of it on Youtube)
Nicely done video montage..just as I was wondering does anybody get hurt (or even drown) out there I saw the poor guy hobbling around in his cast. So where was this Gorge? More info!
I recently heard Robby Naish (the all time king of the sport) say in a video that windsurfing is less dangerous than walking down the street. That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but it is a relatively safe sport, with injuries tending to happen the more you go for the crazy high wind aerial stuff. Thanks for the compliment, it was filmed in the Columbia River Gorge, which divides Washington an Oregon States in the USA.
