  • My first thought was-Victor Hugo was with Andy Warhol and Truman Capote at Fiorucci's? Different Victor apparently. @2:50 cocaine is a helluva drug.

  • Oh, if only it had sound; I'd love to hear the conversations and reactions!

What was the deal there, could anyone be a mannequin in the window? Like could a customer walk up & do their thing, or did you have to work there?

  • If you want the exact date, Andy Warhol mentions it in the Andy Warhol Diaries book, Friday, September 22, 1978

  • The DuPont twins! Victor Hugo (the gay, not the French author)! My the 70's was fun.

  • I did the makeup for the cover of INTERVIEW, Harry King did the hair Barry Mckinley, photographer. Love Debbie Harry! And love Andy and Victor Hugo. Victor left me two paintings of fried eggs. Don't know what happened to them, sorry Victor, nice guy.

  • @sandylinter1

hI, SANDY... I too, got something from Hugo ( it shows on my BG ) .. want to share some memories ?

    lol

    Gene from Caracas

  • I REMEMBER THIS DAY LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY

  • I would have loved to meet them all :)

  • did andy die of aids. sheesh the gay men were dropping left and right in the eighties. that disease is straight out of the bath houses in san francisco. very sad.

  • The silence of the clip is golden. No one can stand silence these days, we all have to clubbed over the head with someone else's idea of good noise. My imagination can fill the void if nessesary.

  • What a crazy fan, spinning around on that table, but I think I would have been as happy as him if I got an autograph by andy warhol...

  • This video goes good with The Golden Age by Beck

  • At 3:04 is a kid seeming thrilled to be at the event..must of had very cool parents. Are you out there?

  • Oh I must have been thinking of a different Victor Hugo.... the author who was alive 150 years ago....

  • Thanks Anton for this wonderful time capsule! xx Ayn1ny

  • Bottledmajic, that was not a stupid question, I would have had the same question if you had not asked.....

  • Comment removed

  • Um. I'm probably going to make myself sound really stupid, but how exactly is victor Hugo in this video?

  • He is in 06:42, the guy with the moustache

  • This is certainly a surprise!

I was working for Fiorucci as a photographer then. It was my first or second job. I'm talking to Joey Arias at 5:34 , but I'm a little more clear at 5:28 5:57-6:00 and 8:17.

Later, Paulette Goddard and Brook Shields were both there for a while, and Andy was signing the bellies of some pregnant women.

  • @hugh2crawford

WOW...HI. I WORKED AT FIORUCCI THEN, AS WELL. I WAS THE UNDERCOVER SECURITY OFFICER. I WORKED WITH MY BUDDY JOEY AND WITH KATHERINE WALLACH. WHAT FABULOUS TIMES WE HAD UP IN THERE. REMEMBER THE CAPPUCINO MACHINE UP FRONT?...LOL...I MET SOOOO MANY CELEBS THERE & GOT PLENTY OF AUTOGRAPHS, AS WELL. AND THE PARTIES WERE TO DIE FOR :)

  • 1977 back when NYC was coolio.

  • this is dull as fuck

  • Joey Arias @ 5:34

  • This a great snippet. Andy would have loved YouTube.

  • i think this isn't 77 but june 79 because the interview they are signing is the june 79 issue with debbie harry on the cover and truman had a facelift after 77. the video is great though

  • You should add music to the video. So much silence can be boring.

  • !!!!!

  • great Truman!!! great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Warhol is like a prototype Tim Gunn.

  • I can't believe Miz Cha Cha Fernandez (Marky) sitting there, trying to look demure. LOL

It's always good to see Victor Hugo again. We were hanging out that day.

  • Is Hugo still alive??

  • No, sadly, he died of AIDS.

  • I thought maybe he had. Thanks.

  • amazing

  • Going into Fiourucci was like going into another world. This is really from a time long ago. Too bad NYC doesn't have shops like this!

  • Be still my heart! My two favorite icons together for one splendid event!

  • I love the way they function, the awarness of each movement and reaction, the silence of the hungry mob, signatures at a price, you want it croud, off course.... I too want it all!!!...jajajaj

  • Wow, now imagine how much money those signed magazines are worth. What an event if you really look back on it.

  • Mr. Perich, Thanks for sharing the tremendous footagw! However, you've got the date wrong: they're signing the Debbie Harry cover of "Interview", which came out in June, 1979.

  • wow, this is going to my favorites! i've never seen Truman in color b4, thanks for uploading this ;))

  • Truman is my buddy..

  • VERY cool

  • WOW THIS IS AMAZING! THANK YOU

  • Thanks for posting this video. Very nice to see Andy and Truman.
