Phoney, the passage you quoted does not mean what you think it means.

God does not think wealthy people are evil and incapable of entering the Kingdom of Heaven. There are over 2200 verses in Scripture regarding the management of money. That makes money a very important issue to Christians.

What the passage means is: a wealthy person who does good works but who idolizes money will have an impossible time entering the kingdom of Heaven. However, a wealthy person who recognizes that he is supposed to "steward" God's money, and who worships God and keeps Christ's exampples, can enter just as easily as a person who is meek (meaning living in fear of the Lord, and who chooses to love Him).

Jesus said, Would it not be easier to say your sins are forgiven, which is similar to the give a man a fish saying. Is giving handouts really helping? Wouldn't it be much easier to put them in an environment where there hard work would pay off rather than throw money at them? The bible says the man who does not work does not eat.
